Well... this might be the hardest post I've had to write because who actually knows how to introduce themselves? 😅

So here's me.
I'm a mom of teenagers, which basically means I'm permanently uncool.

😂 I'm a teacher by day, a wife, and I'm almost always dreaming about where I'm traveling next.

I'm messy (with a capital M), loyal to my core, and I love people hard. I have big feelings, I'm a little bougie, a little bossy (I'm working on my listening skills 😅), and I have a deep love for finding beauty in things that most people overlook.

I'm all about sustainability, one-of-a-kind finds, and leaving this world a little better for the kids growing up in it. Forgotten & Found is really just an extension of all of that.

You'll usually find me wandering the thrift store, searching high and low for the perfect vessel to turn into a candle or dreaming up a scent we haven't done yet. I love the thrill of the hunt, and I never want this business to feel cookie-cutter. You never know what you're going to find around here, and I kind of love that.

More than anything, I do this because I love creating and I love this community. Meeting people, chatting at markets, and growing this little circle has been the best part of the journey.

Whether you've been here since day one or you just found me, thank you. Thanks for cheering me on, shopping small, and being here. Every conversation, every order, and every interaction means more than you know.

The OG Forgotten & Found friends already know this... but I get asked all the time, "Wait... you do refills?!"

Yes! I absolutely do. 😂

It's one of the easiest ways to save a little money, keep your favorite scent, and reuse the vessel you already have. Win-win-win.

As much as I can be a little bougie, I also love a good deal and appreciate anything that's budget-friendly. So if you've got an empty, bring it back and I'll refill it for you. 🤍

You might’ve noticed I have a new photographer around here.

I grew up in a family where everyone was always taking photos, so when my son, Jackson, gravitated toward photography, I was absolutely delighted. Photos have always been some of my most cherished possessions, and I love that he’s found his own way of telling stories through them.

Jackson has been taking photos for me for the last six months, and I have to say, it’s pretty wonderful having an in-house photographer with such a quick turnaround and not to mention... so reasonably priced. 🤭

Not only does he take really beautiful photos of candles, but he’s also constantly capturing his local sports teams, nature, and pretty much anything else where he sees a little bit of beauty.

Watching him discover photography and develop his own eye for beauty has been so awesome to see, and bonus points for getting to spend a little extra time with my teen!

Another trip to the PNW, and it did not disappoint.

Several years ago, Shawn and I came out to the PNW and fell in love with the nature out here, and we had the opportunity to come out one more time.

This time, we brought the kids and saw new sites!

We learned new things, and we fell in love again with this part of the world, and don’t worry.

A new scent is currently being created, feeling inspired after this trip.

Evening Embers is my personal favorite scent to burn in the fall.

It reminds me of a campfire on one of our camping trips, or those perfect evenings when there’s just a little cool breeze in the air and the scent of someone’s bonfire drifts through the open windows.

With warm, comforting vanilla balanced by grounding, smoky elements, it feels like the perfect scent for that in-between season, windows cracked open, a little chill coming through, and the cozy glow of a candle burning inside.

It’s warm, nostalgic, and just a little smoky… basically fall in a candle. by @forgotten.and.found

Subscription boxes are currently my favorite creative outlet. I love having the freedom to think about things in small batches and create collections that tell a story.

When I hear from members that a box hit the mark for them, I couldn’t be more overjoyed. It means so much to know that the thought, care, and magic I pour into each one is being felt on the other side.

Thank you for following along and trusting me as I create something a little magical in this little corner.

Not a pumpkin or an apple girly and wondering what you are going to burn this fall? I think I can help...

Wander - rich fig and notes of mahogany make this one feel cozy and seasonal without being overly sweet like some of our other fall scents.

Wander has been a year-round favorite of mine, but there’s just something about it this time of year. It’s warm, woodsy, a little moody, and perfect for those of us who want fall without everything smelling like pumpkin.

Fall nights are better when you make something. 🍂

We loved welcoming everyone into the space for an evening of candle pouring, cocktail making, and cookie decorating.
