Last week I had the absolute pleasure of visiting with the team at @formaggiokitchen and hosting a @darlingwines tasting for their customers. As I excitedly shared and conversed over our wines, I observed and felt the pulse of a Friday afternoon in this wonderful place: regulars dropping in saying hellos, first name basis between staff and customer; folks moving slowly, grabbing a bottle for dinner or for a gathering later, dinner ingredient checklist’s out, and, of course, having a chat with the cheesemongers to make sure something tasty is on the table to start the evening. No phones or AI recommendations, just trust built over years interactions, of learning ones palate and preferences, and an appreciation of a friendly and reliable face in the neighborhood. Get out and support local, ask for a recommendation, pull the cork and come back with feedback; grow, learn, and enjoy together. Thank you, Stephen and Aidan. I look forward to my next visit. by @formaggiokitchen
There is a lot to discover here at Formaggio Kitchen on Huron Ave in Cambridge! Our Owner, Julia, is taking us on a tour of the store. At our butcher counter we are doing whole- animal butchery: nose- to- tail, so nothing gets wasted! Next to the butcher selection is our seafood case, where we of course always have our fresh Scottish salmon and other local seafood. Join us as we tour the rest of the store, stay tuned for our final video! by @formaggiokitchen
This past summer, our Cheese Buyer and Imports Manager, David Robinson, and Head Cheese Buyer, Marc Hernandez, traveled across Spain and France. During their journey, they paid visits to some of our long-time producers and also discovered new partners along the way. Formaggio Kitchen has spent nearly 50 years learning how to build and share taste. What does it take to make that a daily practice? A conversation in the store can change what you bring home and introduce you to a new source of delight. What a Store Knows follows Julia Hallman, Marc Hernandez and the team at Formaggio Kitchen through the decisions that make that feeling possible. Read the story through the link in our profile. by @formaggiokitchen
