__ We closed out Format on 12 September with a party at @wills.beer Since Format first took shape in the collective imagination of Montréal’s design community last January, we had been looking forward to sharing this moment with you all. A warm summer(ish) night. A cold beer. And all of us together. Friends came from all over Canada, and Montréal’s designers exceeded our (high) expectations with all the exhibitions, events, pop-ups and parties they organized throughout the city. Job well done to everyone. We were so glad to be part of it. We’d like to take a moment to warmly thank the entire team at WILLS (especially @tsatsu ) for this wonderful experience 🖤 Already looking forward to the next time we get to gather. Merci ! xo Équipe du CCC Team Photos: @funkyflashy by @format.mtl

Craft at the Intersection of Design Last week in partnership with the CCC I moderated a panel that examined the role of craftsmanship through the lens of four distinct practices from industrial designer to artisan. We discussed the embodied knowledge the comes from working closely with a material, the balance between technical skill and creative freedom and the challenge of making with intention within a commercial framework. thank you to our panelists: Pascale Girardin @pascalegirardin Simon Johns @simonjohnsdesign Guillaume Sasseville @sssvll Emma Senft @emmasenft thank you to the CCC @cccollective_ for partnering on this event thank you to Lambert & Fils @lambertetfils, Daily Tous les Jours @dailytlj and Mark Kandalaft @kandalaft_studio for providing the seating, to Kreadar for @kreadarsurfullum for providing the space and @harringtonpetillantsbotaniques for the delicious beverages! photos by @michaudfelix_photo by @format.mtl
