If you’ve never made jewelry before, this probably looks a little ridiculous. 😅

But these tiny saw blades wear out, break, or simply become too dull to keep cutting cleanly. Which means I spend way more time threading new blades into my saw than most people would ever expect.

It’s easy to think everyone else learns faster. Maybe they do. I definitely took my time with this. I got frustrated, started over more than once, and wondered why it seemed so much easier for others. But none of that mattered. I just kept going. Setting expensive things on fire has become a lot more expensive over the years. 🥲 I still remember being terrified of spending €30 on my first piece of silver when I started silversmithing. Almost ten years later, silver prices have risen enormously, and although I’m much more confident working with it now, I certainly haven’t become any less aware of its value. 🖤

There’s something so lovely about the little things in nature that we often overlook. Like a tiny bird spreading its wings, ready to take flight. I wanted to capture that moment in silver, engraving every little feather by hand. And somehow, pairing it with this beautiful black onyx felt just right. Some days I’m drowning in ideas. There are so many things I want to try, so many pieces already half existing in my head, and I genuinely don’t know how I’m ever supposed to make them all. And then, somehow, there are days where there’s just… nothing. And I think it’s that jump that I struggle with the most. Going from feeling like there will never be enough time for all the ideas to suddenly wondering where they all went. I know by now that it comes and goes, and that the ideas usually find their way back, but the empty days still make me nervous. Maybe because when my head is full, it feels impossible to imagine it ever being empty again.
