Finally. I’m always looking for owls when I’m out in nature but never really expect to see them in the city. Gemini says it’s a great horned owl. 🦉

My cat Piper meant the world to me. Sadly she passed away a few months ago. She was only 10 years old. I found Piper on November 9th, 2014. I will never forget that night. I was training for the LA Marathon and my dog Dublin stopped in the middle of a crosswalk as we were running and I noticed an orphaned kitten. Cars must have been driving right over her. She wasn’t more than a few weeks old and was riddled with fleas and had an infected wound on her neck. We brought her home, cleaned her up, and did our best to bottle feed her. I didn’t think that we could keep her because we had two big dogs. We set her up in the bathroom until we could figure out what to do. Fast forward a few weeks later and she’s playing “grab hand” under the bathroom door gap with my dog Broni, and they instantly bond. From that day on she was part of the pack. I miss her dearly and my life will never be the same without her. I am still having an extremely hard time dealing with how her life was cut so short. I have feelings of sadness, frustration, and guilt ever since I saw my little angel take her last breath. Piper had asthma that was not diagnosed by the multiple vets that we took her to see even though we had mentioned her symptoms to them several times. Piper would still be alive today if she had been prescribed an inhaler with an adapter made specially for cats in the event that she had an attack. Cats that do have asthma can live long happy lives as long as they have an inhaler when needed. I am so sorry to what happened to you Piper, I would do anything to have you back. “You were saved that night to save us. Rest easy my sweet little angel.” 🐈‍⬛ 💔 🕊️ 🐾 #catasthma #catasthmaawareness by @forrest_024
