Things I wish people knew before their first sound bath...

#soundhealing #londonevents #nervoussystemhealing by @forsoulssake_

People often ask what happens during a sound bath.

The honest answer is that everyone's experience is different. For this one, we incorporated yin yoga into the practice with the incredible @brownyogababe

Some people leave feeling deeply relaxed. Others find they simply appreciate having an hour or two away from the pace of everyday life. Either way, it's time intentionally set aside to slow down and reconnect.

5 common myths about sound healing...

1. "You have to be spiritual to enjoy it."
Not at all. Some people come for the relaxation, some for mindfulness, and others are simply curious. You don't need any particular beliefs to benefit from taking time to slow down.

2. "You'll stop thinking completely."
Your mind will probably still wander—and that's completely normal. Sound healing isn't about having no thoughts, it's about giving your attention somewhere gentle to rest.

3. "It's just lying down listening to music."
While listening is part of the experience, sound healing uses carefully played instruments, such as crystal singing bowls, to create an immersive environment that supports relaxation.

4. "Everyone has the same experience."
No two sound baths are exactly alike. Some people feel deeply relaxed, others leave feeling refreshed, and some simply enjoy an hour away from the pace of everyday life.

5. "One session will change your life."
Sound healing isn't a quick fix. Like many wellbeing practices, it's often the cumulative effect of regularly creating space to rest, reflect and reset that makes the biggest difference.

What myth have you heard before?

There's something different about sitting in a room where no one expects anything from you.

No pressure to perform.
No need to keep up.

Just an opportunity to be us for a while.

That's what we hope you'll find at The Solace Space.

5 things I bet you didn’t know about sound healing…

1. Your brain responds to rhythm.
Steady, repetitive sounds can encourage your brain to shift into slower brainwave patterns associated with relaxation and rest.

2. You don’t have to “believe” in it.
Whether you’re sceptical or curious, your nervous system still responds to sound. The experience isn’t dependent on your beliefs.

3. It isn’t about emptying your mind.
Many people think meditation means having no thoughts. Sound healing simply gives your attention something gentle to rest on.

4. Every experience is different.
Some people feel deeply relaxed, others feel energised, and some simply enjoy having an hour without notifications or distractions. There isn’t a “right” way to experience it.

5. Sound healing has been practised for thousands of years.
From Tibetan singing bowls to Aboriginal Australian yidaki (didgeridoo) traditions and other cultures around the world, people have used sound in rituals, ceremonies and wellbeing practices long before modern wellness existed.

We spend so much of our lives surrounded by noise that we rarely notice what it feels like to pause.

The Solace Space is an invitation to do exactly that. An hour to slow down, listen, breathe and reconnect with yourself through the sounds of crystal singing bowls.

Sometimes that’s all we need.

Our first Solace Space ceremony wasn’t just an event, it was the beginning of a space we’ve dreamed of creating for a long time.

A space where you can walk in exactly as you are… tired, hopeful, unsure, grieving, beginning again… and still feel completely welcome.

Seeing everyone settle into the room, soften, breathe, release, and reconnect reminded us why we wanted to create this in the first place.

We want these ceremonies to feel like a return to yourself, a place where your emotions are valid, your intentions matter, and you’re part of a community that sees you without judgement.

Thank you to every single person who joined us for our first circle. Your presence shaped the energy of the night in the most beautiful way. We can’t wait to keep building this with you.

Keep your eyes peeled… our New Year session will be announced soon, and we’d love to welcome you back into the space.

With love,
The Solace Space 🌙 🫧

A gradual shift toward understanding my body and trusting the natural wisdom of plants. Herbs offer a more gentle, sustainable way to support health, addressing not just symptoms but the whole system.

This doesn’t mean rejecting all forms of medicine; it’s about balancing both worlds and choosing what feels aligned. 🌿🌱
