Hey, Campionites! Heritage Week is here! Some students were asked to share their understanding of some Jamaican proverbs and the lessons behind each one. Whether through words of being prepared or the ideas behind gratitude, our proverbs reflect the values and traditions of what it truly means to be a Jamaican.

Dear Campion Family,

Please join us in commemorating the life of a true inspiration to us all, Ms. Lynch. For the past 37 years, Ms. Lynch has served this school with excellence in art. She was passion-personified in her work, believing that everyone is an artist, teaching students the virtues of discipline, hard work and integrity. Ms. Lynch’s influence stretches far, affecting people all over the world. Her contribution to Campion College is undeniable, and even more so to her students. She has nurtured students and taught them what it means to be a true person of character.

Ms. Lynch has taught more than how to hold a paint brush. She has taught how to be an artist in life, not just to live, but to thrive in its beauty. She has deeply moved the souls of many. Ms. Lynch’s legacy will forever live on in our hearts.

We extend our deepest condolences to Ms. Lynch’s family, friends, colleagues, former students and all who mourn her passing. May she forever rest in peace. by @fortesfeed

Being Head Boy or Head Girl comes with prestige, but also pressure, expectations and the challenge of balancing leadership with simply being a teenager.

Chad Wright, Head Boy of Campion College, and Adeola Stewart, Head Girl, joined SKOOLAZ to talk about leadership, identity and the issues facing young Jamaicans today.

They also tackled a bigger question:

What’s one thing adults still don’t fully understand about being a teenager today?

After 20 years at Campion College, Mathematics Teacher and Grade Supervisor Mrs. Kenny-Folkes has had a front-row seat to generations of students growing into young adults.

She joined The Teacher’s Lounge to discuss helping students overcome their fear of Mathematics, how teaching has changed over two decades and why academic excellence should never come at the expense of developing the whole person.

And yes, we also had to find out the most creative excuse she’s ever heard for unfinished homework. 😭

Aiden Bramwell and Tori Senior joined TK as Campion College took over Sunrise.

And naturally, the morning started with a little This or That. 😭

TikTok or Instagram?
Uniform or dress freely?
Extra classes or extracurricular activities?
Campion for another five years or graduate tomorrow?
And what’s worse: “Pop quiz!” or “I need to see you after class”? 👀

Welcome to the Campion edition of SKOOLAZ: Where Bright Minds Shine.
