Very slow hobby weekend dealing with the fallout from a tough week. I’m doing a Kurita force for #battletech and I like their use of PPCs and melee weapons. Reposed the Hatchetman with a katana and the Spider with a space marine knife.

The torsos on a lot of these guys are posed weird so I end up sawing them. Now if it would stop raining or being so humid I could actually spray them all. by @fortunes__fool

I want to get my #helsmithsofhashut done before my ogre preorders arrive. I’m doing my other two Domination Engines as melee, but doing some quick conversions on the maces. Tomorrow I need to get some much thicker jewelry chain, this is scaled for Imperial Guard. The other one will probably get a big two handed hammer once I find something to make it from. by @fortunes__fool

Got a couple of boxes of #battletech Urbanmechs to make a down-on-their-luck group of mercenaries. Added a bunch of gouges and bullet holes along with scrap metal repair plates. They will be painted with a lot chipped paint and rust when I can get outside and spray all these.

91% alcohol isn’t stripping my previous paint jobs as quick as it normally does, especially when I can take the paint off with a fingernail. by @fortunes__fool

Pulled out a box of #battletech minis I painted during COVID to strip them for painting along with all the new ones I’ve bought recently. During COVID, Rustoleum primer was sold out so I used regular spray which didn’t stick. All the models feel tacky and the paint comes right off with a fingernail so they’re all going on 91% alcohol to strip.

I don’t know my BT lore well so I wanted to paint each guy in an individual scheme so they’re all just mercenaries. I haven’t played since 2018 and it was always a free for all, so having every model be a mercenary made sense.

This Warhammer fades from red to black as an exercise in controlled brushing, the others were meant to be wildly different colors. The Marauder was goin to be painted like a Zentradi Officer Pod from Robotech and the Atlas was done in Imperial fist colors.

I bought a TON of new minis, my excel spreadsheet has me at 122 models. More pics to come, I’m going to do some weapon conversions and bought a bunch of tanks for a mercenary vehicle regiment.

I haven’t painted for awhile, so I hope to practice some schemes for 40k, AoS and 30k on these models. by @fortunes__fool

Figured I haven’t started enough army projects this year so I got a bunch of #helsmithsofhashut to build. Since I’ve got 4 of these dominators, one will have the cannons and another will have the maces glued on. The other two will be magnetized once I nail down how to do it since you can only take 3 of any one variant. I have no idea how to sculpt a blast effect.

There is almost no posing with the model because the shoulders have nubs to lock the angle (unless you trim them and then the shoulder pad doesn’t fit) and the legs are locked standing upright. I’ll try to have the melee one smashing down with a leg raised, dunno about the last two. by @fortunes__fool

Went out for a bit and even though I have no time tonight, I couldn’t resist tacking they sponson gun and a #deathkorpsofkrieg commissar on the Macharius. This thing looks so cool.

I have of these 1/48 and 1/35 scale Tamiya bedrolls, I envision they’re kinda tarp the crew would unfold to cover gun ports and tracks during the rain for maintenance and repair. by @fortunes__fool

Haven’t gotten close to cleaning up and gap fitting this #deathkorpsofkreig Macharius Vulcan and I’m already planning stowage. I’m walking right up to the point of overdoing it 😆

I’ll probably make and print a fuel tank holder to do two tanks per side. by @fortunes__fool

A “deffkilla wartrike” and **ahem** “rukkatrukk squigbuggy” [say that three times fast] for my new #orks army. I have two of each so my next wartrike will be a Wazzdakka once I have time to properly convert him and the other squigbuggy will be a trukk once I get some Plastruct I beams and extra wheels from Hot Wheels monster trucks. by @fortunes__fool

I love this #orks rat rod even though it has V6 engines. Seriously, why doesn’t GW model proper V8s for these things? The exhausts are just bluetacked for painting and if I didn’t have a huge backlog, I’d be tempted to replace them with scratchbuilt 4 port tubing.

I wanted to save the top gunner for a looted battle wagon so I just grafted the pistol shooting grot to an IG autocannon and built a mount from some magnets. I can swap to something else down the road but I kinda like them up there.

A pity the roof covers up the interior, I considered leaving it off. by @fortunes__fool
