My camera’s been with me through it all — the quiet doubts, the bold leap, the blossoming seasons… and today, it's telling my story.

15 years ago, I made the life-changing decision to leave a path that no longer fulfilled me and fully embrace the talent that had been quietly whispering inside me for years. That was the beginning of my journey as a portrait photographer here in the Netherlands — a land that constantly feeds my soul with beauty, especially in spring. 🌸

Each season brings its own magic, but there’s something about spring… the blooming trees, the fields, the soft golden light — I just can't get enough of it.

Over the past 6 months, I’ve been diving into something new — videography! I'm taking wonderful courses led by the incredibly talented and sweet @masha_brygynets and her amazing team (I know at least @producer_lesia is on Insta for sure). It’s there that I received a gentle (and much-needed) nudge to step in front of the lens myself, to share my voice, my story, and how I see the beautiful, layered moments of womanhood through my eyes.

And with an extra kick in the rear (the loving kind!) from my dear friend @milakosynska, who I met at the 1st course, I’m finally making a fresh start here — after being a little quiet for the past 3 months. ✨

So here I am — more visible, more vulnerable, more me. Let’s begin this new chapter together. 💛

A while ago I made a video about wearing too many hats in business. Turns out I was foreshadowing something.

If you saw my Amélie-style video, you may remember the opening shot: several hats stacked on my head.

It was a joke about running a photography business and doing different styles of photography but also about somehow become marketer, salesperson, planner, accountant, customer support and IT department, sometimes all before lunch.

So this feels quite fitting: I’ve become a **17hats Ambassador**.

I’ve used @the17hats for years to run much of the behind-the-scenes part of my business: inquiries, contracts, invoices, scheduling, workflows, all the glamorous stuff nobody books a photographer for.

I really like the system. But one of the reasons I said yes to becoming an ambassador is actually the people behind it.

Their customer support is unusually human. You can start with a mildly annoyed “something is not working” and, by the time it’s sorted, feel as if your favorite cousin has just fixed it for you :-)

That kind of thing sticks.

So from time to time I’ll share how I use 17hats in my own business, what has genuinely helped me, and probably a few things I learned later than I should have.

In the deep midnight blue of Hanna Liljenberg’s earrings, darkness becomes luminous — like fragments of the sky turned into wearable poetry.

Paired with the dark ring by Clara Del Papa, the look gains gravity and presence: bold, grounded, unapologetically sculptural. Two contemporary artworks that don’t just accessorize… they speak.

At first, our model was shy — almost hidden behind her own quiet grace.

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN PEOPLE TRY ON ART?

Something delightful.
Something revealing.
Something very human.

BEYOND ADORNMENT - GLOW UP experience brought together people who had nothing in common except curiosity. And yet, the moment they stood before my camera, their inner worlds became beautifully visible.

Some hid at first, as if the lens could read their thoughts.
Some performed, as if a giant necklace required a persona.
Some relaxed instantly, as though being photographed were their native language.
And others, my favorite, surprised themselves by glowing without effort.

Age didn’t matter.
Background didn’t matter.
Experience with art jewelry certainly didn’t matter.
What mattered was this:

Every person has a moment where the outer adornment awakens the inner one.

My job is simply to witness it.

And on that Sunday with coffee, tea, wine, sculptural jewelry, and a room full of humans discovering themselves, I witnessed dozens.

It felt like photographing little awakenings.

‘The magic happens outside the comfort zone’. So true. I see it all the time when clients move out of their safe colour & style choices. Confidence grows and you can expand your potential!

I don’t like posing for a photographer and I always tend to wear small earrings. But I had the chance to try a photoshoot with the talented @fotodelray with beautiful earrings of @burcusulekjewelry by @therezapedrosagallery .

My eye caught the stunning royal blue colour of the earrings but the earrings were much bigger than I am used to wearing. Tried to them, loved them instantly and @fotodelray made me feel comfortable in front of her lens. You can see the result here!
