Great news for lovers of Japanese art. The exhibition of miniature sculpture from the Land of the Rising Sun has been extended until the end of this year. At the National Museum in Szczecin on Wały Chrobrego, a collection is on display—a donation from Danuta Pawłowska-Seyda and Marek Seyda. Okej, bądźmy szczerzy… Po pierwsze: tak, to są zdjęcia TallShip Races. Po drugie: są to zdjęcia z 2024 r. Czemu nie ma z tegorocznej edycji? Cóż, siła wyższa, nie było możliwości być na pierwszych dniach wydarzenia. 📸Ostatni dzień był chmurny i deszczowy więc … 🌤Zdjęcia nigdy nie były publikowane, proszę napiszcie w komentarzach które wam się najbardziej podoba, to ważne dla mnie. Dziękuję.

Okay, let’s be honest… First of all: yes, these are photos from the Tall Ships Races. Secondly: they are from 2024. Why aren't there any from this year's edition? Well, circumstances beyond my control 📸- I couldn't make it to the opening days of the event. Kitku na witrażu z ratusza w Szczecinku. W sali obrad szczecinieckiego ratusza jest zespół 8 witraży z lat 30 XX w. Przedstawiają one mieszkańców miasta, przedstawicieli różnych zawodów i postacie historyczne. Na jednym z witraży widać małego, jasnego kotka. Idzie w pochodzie, wpatruje się w rzeźnika niosącego wyroby mięsne jak kiełbaski. Autorem połowy witraży ( wizerunkiem kotka ) jest Carl Busch. Po drugiej stronie sali są witraże Maxa Lüdera.

A little kitty in the stained glass windows of Szczecinek Town Hall. The council chamber of Szczecinek Town Hall features a set of eight stained glass windows created in the 1930s. They depict the town's residents, representatives of various professions, and historical figures. One of the windows includes a small, light-colored cat, walking in a procession with its eyes fixed on a butcher carrying sausages and other meat products. Half of the stained glass windows ( included cats image) were designed by Carl Busch, while the other half, on the opposite side of the chamber, were created by Max Lüder.

Lokal Weinstuben Wilhelm Ohlen otwarty w l 20 XX w był jednym z modniejszych w mieście. Bogaty wystrój to m.in. podświetlany, szklany sufit i lustrzany parkiet, obrazy na ścianach, poroża, meble z ciemnego drewna. Po wojnie była tu słynna Bajka. Dziś wraca jako część sieci B4bilard Lounge Bar czyli bilard i drinki w klimatycznym wnętrzu. Fakt że lokal jest do tego idealny. Jest nie tylko stara boazeria i kominek w stylu holenderskim. Są witraże w przegrodach pomiędzy pomieszczeniami. Zaginęły w l 90 podczas jednego z remontów i szczęśliwie całe wróciły. Powstały w czasie otwarcia lokalu. Ukazują sceny z serii miedziorytów pt. Wojna chłopska. Oryginał wykonany w 1544 r przez Sebalda Behama. Są też witraże pokazujące herby miast pomorskich.

W Szczecinie zachowała się bardzo mała ilość oryginalnych wnętrz z gastronomi. Do grona można dodać niedawno odnowiony Park Hotel

The venue Weinstuben Wilhelm Ohlen, opened in the 1920s quickly became one of the city's most fashionable. Its interior was exceptionally lavish, featuring an illuminated glass ceiling and even a mirrored dance floor, walls were decorated with paintings, antlers, while the furnishings were crafted from dark wood.
After World War II, the place was famous Bajka. Today, returned as part of the B4Bilard Lounge Bar network, offering billiards and cocktails in a uniquely atmospheric. It’s hard to imagine a better location for such a concept.
Not only have the original wood paneling and Dutch-style fireplace been preserved, but stained-glass windows separating the rooms have survived as well. They disappeared during renovations in the 1990s, but fortunately found their way back to the venue intact.
These stained-glass windows date back to the opening of establishment, depict scenes from the engraving series The Peasants’ War, originally created in 1544 by Sebald Beham. Other feature the coats of arms of Pomeranian cities
A handful of original interiors have survived in Szczecin

Ta pora roku w Szczecinie to nie tylko kwitnące rośliny ale i … książki. Jedną z autorek literatury związanej z pomorzem i kwiatami była Elizabeth von Arnim. Kim była kobieta która pod koniec XIX w zamieszkała na pomorskim dworze i zachwyciła się tutejszą przyrodą ? Jej książka pt „Elizabeth i jej ogród” to pełna uroku opowieść o kwiatach, codzienności i życiu na dawnym Pomorzu. W nowym wpisieu na blog przeczytasz nie tylko o samej książce, ale też o niezwykłej autorce i świecie, który dziś już właściwie nie istnieje.

Piramida w Goleniowie. Tak, w tym nad Iną w Zachodniopomorskim a nie w egipskiej Gizie. I nie tylko bo po obu stronach Odry można znaleźć budowle które możemy nazwać piramidami. Wejdż na bloga by się o niej więcej dowiedzieć - link w bio. Zaś na zdjęciu bardzo egipski motyw z piramidą oczywiście pochodzący z elewacji Muzeum Narodowego w Szczecinie przy Wałach Chrobrego.

The pyramid in Goleniów. Yes - the one by the Ina River in West Pomerania, not the Egyptian Giza Pyramid Complex. And it’s not the only one - on both sides of the Oder River you can find structures that could be called pyramids.
