A Moment of Gratitude for Our Community

We’re truly grateful and proud to share that Nawaf, a dedicated young footballer from Butetown, has signed a long-term deal with Nike.

Nawaf plays for Cardiff City and is currently the only player in their academy and development squad to be backed by Nike. It’s an incredible moment — not just for him, but for all of us who have watched his journey with quiet pride.

This achievement is a reflection of Nawaf’s hard work, but also of the support, love, and encouragement from those around him — family, friends, coaches, and our community. It’s a reminder of what can happen when young people are lifted up and believed in.

We’re thankful for this moment and hopeful for what lies ahead. Nawaf, your journey is just beginning — and Butetown is with you, always.

Week 1 complete. 💙

What a brilliant start to our Foundation 4 Sports Coaching Summer Internship Programme 2026.

Over the past week, our interns have:
🤝 Got to know one another and explored what community means to them.
🗣️ Taken part in interactive workshops on community organising and power.
📚 Been introduced to the foundations of coaching theory.

The energy, engagement and willingness to learn has been outstanding. We’re excited to see how this group continues to grow over the next five weeks.

Bring on Week 2! 🚀
