We’re getting ready to launch a new round of CANCOM comedy grants (5th year!). Expect an official announcement in August with returning and new sponsors.

Current projects that received seed funding last year are either completed or still creating.

Congratulations to all of the Canadian comedians nominated for this year’s Canadian Screen Awards with the Academy of Canadian Cinema & Television | l’Académie canadienne du cinéma et de la télévision.

The list of Comedy nominations in TV is a long, impressive celebration of incredible Canadian comedy talent.

Some comedy artists are also included in nominations in categories outside of comedy - including Juno Awards host, Mae Martin; as well as nominations in Film - including “Nirvanna the Band the Show the Movie”; and in Digital - including, “Cows Come Home”.

The Canadian Screen Awards TV Gala is May 31st, 2026, with full industry awards nights starting May 27th.

The CANCOM AGM is a public event for all Members and non-members of the Canadian comedy community.

All attendees must agree to CANCOM’s health, safety and anti-harassment statement and participate with respect to the meeting and chat as being a safe space for all.

LINK to attend in BIO. This is a chance for grant applicants to meet this year’s CANCOM Peer Assessors, who are comedy artists and will share how their professional and creative experiences will help inform CANCOM about which of the many impressive applications submitted may receive funding.

The grant application deadline is: Friday October 31st, 2025.

This session is a safe place for all people in our comedy community to be informed and ask questions in a professional way that demonstrates respect for all others.
