POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

2 years owning @foundfarm and one year living here!

To say it’s been a relaxing project would be a big fat lie. But after 2 years of a lot of work (+ stress) we are finally really enjoying our new home.

Thank you for following along ❤️ more finished (ish) shots to come soon.

@foundfarm is one year old! The last year condensed into a few minutes… it’s crazy looking back at the old photos and I can’t quite believe how far we have come in 12 months. All the major work is now done and it should now just be a case of making a house a home. Thank you for following along ❤️

We’ve had to do quite a bit of work to the floors. After taking the floorboards up we realised the sub floor was rotten in quite a few places.

After cleaning out the decades of debris we insulated the new floor with hemp and the timber joists are protected with a breather membrane and a vapour control layer over the underfloor heating.

We decided to use underfloor heating as it works so much better with the air source heat pumps. The temperature will be kept low and then backed up by a few radiators. It’s a bit trial and error but the only way to try and stay away from oil fired heating.

Floorboards have now gone back in and you would never know! by @foundfarm

Garden update! Back when there was still a hope of it Coming Home, we hosted a screening for the World Cup for friends, but at the last minute we decided to build a new BBQ up by the old pig styes. Sure, we had 1000 other things to sort and it was hotter than hell, but our builders are magicians.

Many, many more BBQ’s to come ❤️

For all you before and after fans! June 2026 > March 2023
We spent a long time trying to match the original green paint which was on a large amount of the woodwork and found Forest by @beataheuman x @mylands_london which is the perfect mix of bright yet understated green 🌲

APRIL!
The garden is back 💥
It feels like the lawn is being mowed every day 😑
The pigsty roof didn’t last the winter so had to be removed 💸 making plans of what to do in this space. Any thoughts?!
I did a 2 day upholstery course and made an ottoman! It was incredibly hard. Shout out to @thepinterior for inspiring the @robertkime fabric. No cats, drinks, food, children or feet are allowed on it 😵‍💫
The kitchen was tidy for a split second and the rest of the time it has been chaos
I got this sofa off FB for nothing and it’s changed this room. Another piece for the upholstery pile.
I grew tulips which I won’t stop talking about but some went weird
I made this collage of the eldest’s art and it love it. Hobby craft really is the best 🎨 by @foundfarm

Over the last week we have hosted 17 people at the farm (including 8 kids under 6!) and the house has been put to the test!

It’s our second year hosting, but this year felt a lot easier as so much more has been done. You get so used to living with exposed wires and no curtains, but this year we even managed to decorate! Whilst it’s at times been complete chaos, this period was a good reminder why we bought this beautiful old house.

There are major plans afoot for 2026 as we move to stage 2 - developing the outbuildings. We are intentionally trying to spend less time on this app, but a big big thank for following along this year and all your encouragement ❤️

We always knew the light was going to be amazing here. For any of the renovators staring at a half built wall, thinking when will this end… trust the process! 🙏

We have had a few new followers (hi) and also some IRL friends asking for more house updates (also hi! And thanks ☺️).

We have been totally hopeless at posting recently because life has been mad, we are nearly 3 years into this renovation which is somewhat draining and posting about lamps at points this year has felt weird. But alas, we are chipping away at the house and whilst there is still so much to do, we have some corners of rooms (not whole rooms) which are showing signs of dare I say it, completion!
