Had a play with the @xaudiamics (as I shall now be referring it to it) ribbon + omni stacked mic technique last night, on some BVs for a @learntosurfband tune we’ve been working on. Sounded cool! Cheers Stewart! Music choice of no significance other than the Buffalo Springfield EP on the wall above my guitar ✌️#homerecording #ribbonmic by @foundinstruments

Huge thanks to everyone who has given ‘Memory Shift’ a spin since last week, and to everyone who has commented, sent nice messages, shared etc, believe it or not, this is a picture of me smiling.

I really want to make an album next and this track has helped me see how I can do that, so I’m excited to get stuck in, watch this space!✌️ by @foundinstruments

Morning folks - got a new one landing this time next week, it’s called ‘Memory Shift’ and features my @learntosurfband mate @jamesbaldwin on drums. This will probably be the last time I put out a Found Instruments single as I really want to try and make something longer form next, even if it takes me 10 years do it. Hope you dig this one for now! by @foundinstruments

Studio rejig! Made a start on recording a tune I wrote in 2011 and messed around with the Albini floor mic technique. Also - got a new tune coming out this month. More on that soon! ✌️ by @foundinstruments

Happy new year folks! My buddy and @learntosurfband compadre @joereevesrecording releases ‘Archives 2013-2020’ next month. Joe has focused a large part of his creative energy over the last 10 years on working on other people’s projects so I’m stoked he’s putting out this overview of his own work. Keep an ear out! by @foundinstruments

No one asked, but this is my favourite record of 2024! I’m a fan of all 4 of these guys individually so it really is like a dream supergroup come true for me. Amazingly, it’s as good as anything they’ve each done on their own and has totally inspired me to get into playing guitar again. If you still believe in rock and roll, give this bad boy a spin! See you 2025✌️ by @foundinstruments

‘You’re Not Alone’ has been out a month and this is the last time I will encourage you to go and listen to it (if you haven’t already!) Thanks to everyone who has checked it out and said nice things so far.

There is another tune I was working on at the same time which is probably 75% done so that will come out once I have some time to finish it along with a couple more that fell through the cracks and then I really want to do something that’s a complete piece of work, be it an EP or full length, we’ll see! Until then, give this one a spin! ✌️

Is it #bandcampfriday ? I think it is #bandcampfriday ! And while I don’t have any limited edition wares to offer, you can get a high-quality, not at all limited download of the new tune via the link in the bio. I will do better next time! by @foundinstruments
