A few glimpses of the space I’ve been working in this summer in Winterswijk.

This Saturday, September 26, I’m opening the doors for one afternoon, from 12:00–17:00, to share the space and the work I’ve made, containing installations, drawings and paintings.

At 15:00, the lovely Erin Lang (aka Foundling) @foundlingsounds and wonderful Jorhito Briseño @jorhito_iluminado will perform a live sound piece, responding to the space and the works.

A sonic ritual summoning the wisdom of roots running across the veil of the seen and unseen — invoking the wilds of nature, our ancestors, and the collective intelligence that lives within us and radiates beyond.

Lang’s haunted, shimmering vocals and harp intertwine with Briseño’s glassophone, chimes, ocean drums, and gongs, forming immersive sound worlds of resonance, air, and depth — ancient and otherworldly in equal measure.

Erin Lang is a Canadian-born, Berlin-based vocalist, harpist, bassist, and composer, and the creative force behind Foundling — known for its emotionally resonant blend of ambient, avant-garde, and experimental music. Her practice explores care, liminality, and presence, bridging song, sound art, and meditative listening. She has performed supporting Agnes Obel and Timber Timbre at the Berlin and Paris Philharmonies, Le Grand Rex, and Le Trianon.

Jorhito Briseño (Rêyzen) is a sound artist, DJ, and percussionist working at the intersection of improvisation, somatic practice, and deep listening. Using acoustic and overtone-rich instruments, he creates immersive sonic environments rooted in vibration and breath. He has performed at Garbicz, Waking Life, Waha Festival, Come Bye, and Kune, among many others across Europe and the USA.

The tour has started! Sea & Swords project (+ Foundling) With beautiful collaborations in amazing spaces, we began in the Netherlands making music from thread spools and radiators in an abandoned textile factory and now we’re in the warm arms of Manchester local legend Bernie who hosts touring bands with so much care!

sonic mattress designed to hold, support, and gently guide the listener through states of
movement, stillness, darkness, and release.

I’m excited to share that on Saturday 26 September I’m opening my temporary studio in a former textile factory in Winterswijk for a one-time sound performance as part of my researchproject Spatial Memory.

I grew up in Winterswijk and as a child I was fascinated by this building and I imagined what it would be like to live there. This past summer, I lived and worked in this space, making paintings, drawings and spatial works in direct response to its architecture, materials, light and my personal history with the place.
The research explores loss and longing and how a space can connect us across time.

During this afternoon the works willen in view and Erin Lang of Foundling Sound @foundlingsounds and Jorhito Briseño @jorhito_iluminado will enter into dialogue with the space and the works. Through harp and percussion, they will create a temporary ritual in which sound, space, body and memory influence one another.

The space and works can be visited from 12.00 to 17.00.
The performance takes place at 15.00.

The performance can be experienced seated, but lying down is preferred. Please bring your own mat and blanket.

Registration is required. The address will be sent upon registration via DM

Last run-through for the Berlin show tomorrow @donau115 ✨ with the wonderful @lconofficial and @missngmusic ..These days of digging into the earth of Artemisia and exploring some things for a new album with @yurisequin have been quietly exciting and resonant.. ⭐️🪉 finding all the places where the improvising rises from the original recordings, takes new shapes and melds into us knowing the waves of what the other feels, though next time will take a different shape.. but following the same path together.. Beautiful musical days!
Can’t wait to play tomorrow :)

A communal café that invites you to experiment with journaling as a form of political care, where the notebook is a physical home for our most fleeting thoughts and the ink a marker of (im)permanence.

Through live music, guided prompts and open writing time, we’ll use this moment to reflect on what we’re experiencing and questioning on a given topic without hierarchy of thought, and let the ink spill among other curious strangers.

For this opening workshop we interrogate 𝕓𝕖𝕒𝕦𝕥𝕪: in which ways are beauty standards violent, how they touch us, how we contribute to perpetuating them as a social construct and how we come together to subvert them.

We’ll journal, draw, and hopefully peel layers off ourselves.
