We’ve been told walking into FOUNDRY Eastbourne feels a bit like London.

We’ll take it. Although working in Eastbourne has its perks 👀

If you work from home, maybe you can relate to this. I’ll archive this post if it all changes in a week 🙃😬 Never happened. But right now, it’s happening.

I LOVE working from home. I have a great, strict morning routine, I exercise, I go for a walk, I eat well all day, I don’t lose hours of my life commuting. My cat thinks my attendance record is exemplary. S’all vibes.

But the other day, my lovely neighbour, who is sadly pretty much housebound at the moment after a stroke and foot surgery, saw me leaving and said:

“Oh… you don’t get out much, do you?” 🙃😬

And the thing is, he’s kinda sorta right. To a degree. A big degree.

I’m quite the introvert/extrovert despite a huge part of my weekends being PARTY GAL VIBES. Wallop there’s a crowd.

The strange thing about working from home is that even when you’re doing it well, your world can get smaller.

There’s no commute, but there’s also no walk to work, though I do have a ‘walkies’ posse and, of course, my fellow swimmers.

But with WFH, there’s a distinct lack of change of scenery. There’s no natural end to the working day. Work can bleed into the evening because your laptop/phone is RIGHT THERE, and suddenly you realise you’ve been in the same building for three days and are weirdly excited to see the Evri man.

And I’m not usually very excited to see him because he often arrives late, so when I am… it’s been a long day.

Delivery drivers become a barometer for social deprivation.
Anyway, sometimes the whole WFH vibe can end up feeling a little bit like we’re still living in Covid.

I don’t think people talk about this enough.

Fellow WFH people: does anyone else occasionally realise their lifestyle is giving March 2020, despite having absolutely no reason for it to be? 🙃

Anyway, I’ve been to the Foundry in Hove 3 times this week. It’s the bomb. Go check it out. It’s legit better than the rest.

We’re pleased to share that Riverside House at Crayfields Park was shortlisted for the Technology and Innovation Award at the Industrial Agents Society (IAS) Awards! 🏆

We transformed a life-expired office building into the UK’s first multi-storey micro industrial incubator – now home to @foundryuk and 30 flexible industrial units. From 256 roof solar panels, premium shared facilities to recycling 85% of construction waste, we’ve created a space that is sustainable.

Being recognised alongside such impressive innovation in the industry is an achievement we’re extremely proud of.

Congratulations to this year’s winner @indurentuk and thank you to the IAS Awards judges for recognising this project.
