I think one of the hardest parts about being a creative is making things before you know where they’re going to take you.

I’ve taken the photos no one asked for. made the videos just because I had an idea. taught myself new things because I wanted to see if I could. shared work that barely got noticed. changed directions more times than I can count.

and I’ve definitely had plenty of moments where I wondered if any of it was actually leading somewhere.

but looking at my creative life now, I can see how much of it was built in those little moments.

one photo led to another. one idea turned into a client. one client opened another door. experimenting helped me find my style. showing up over and over helped me trust my own creative voice.

and somehow, the things I used to make just because I loved making them became the work I get to do every day.

I’m still impatient. I still want to know where every idea is going 😂

but lately I’ve been trying to look around a little more instead of always looking ahead.

because so much of what I have now, the people I get to create with, the places this work has taken me, the freedom to chase an idea simply because I believe in it, started with me making something and hoping it might lead somewhere.

turns out it did.

and I think I owe it to that version of me to keep going. 🤍

I’m starting to believe that becoming my SELF isn’t a destination.

It’s a remembering.

A remembering of what made me feel alive before the world got loud.

A remembering of what felt true before I started asking for permission.

Maybe that’s what “found within” has always meant to me.

I wonder how different our lives would feel if we trusted ourselves the way we did as children.

Before the comparison.
Before the pressure.
Before we started editing ourselves to fit into rooms we were never meant to belong in.

Maybe growing up isn’t about becoming someone new. Maybe it’s about remembering the parts of yourself that were there all along.

somewhere along the way, the things I used to do just because they made me happy became the things I get to call work.

taking photos. making videos. writing. styling. dreaming up ideas. finding beautiful little moments and figuring out how to tell a story around them.

and yes, sometimes work is still work. there are deadlines, long days, creative blocks and way too much time spent staring at a screen.

but then I catch myself in a moment like this and remember… I would be doing so much of this anyway.

I’d still be creating. still taking the photo. still chasing the idea. still finding something beautiful in the ordinary.

I feel really lucky that my work and the things I genuinely love get to overlap this much.

turns out building a life around the things that light you up is kinda chic too. 🤍

a creative brain with approximately 37 tabs open, 12 unfinished ideas, a camera roll that needs professional help + a very serious commitment to finding my next favorite sandwich. 😂

somewhere between making a living doing what I love + remembering to actually live a little.

think farmers market, but make it a girls’ brunch.

the hostess with the mostest, @eating.at.altitude brought us all together for the sweetest little Sunday swap, where everyone showed up with something to share. handmade, home-cooked, thrifted, found, or just something we loved enough to pass along.

we brunched, we browsed, we “shopped” each other’s goodies, and everyone went home with a little something special.

proof that the best kind of Sunday doesn’t require much. just good friends, good food, a little creativity, and an excuse to get together.

NOCO showed up for the wieners!

Northern Colorado’s FIRST EVER Wiener Fest was everything we hoped it would be and about a hundred dachshunds more.

the races, the costumes, the chaos, the sheer amount of wiener dogs in one place… truly, what a time to be alive.

but beyond all the cuteness, this is what we love most about Northern Colorado. people turning their wild little ideas into something that brings an entire community together.

a HUGE shoutout to @desireejgustafson for dreaming this up, putting in the work, and making this ridiculously wonderful day a reality. 🤎

safe to say, we’ve found our new favorite holiday.

same time next year? 🌭

just another day of taking fashion very seriously and myself not so much. 😂

there’s something about playing dress up at @shop_pilar that brings out my inner child. trying on things I wouldn’t normally reach for, dancing around in outfits I definitely don’t need another excuse to wear + spending time with women who make the whole thing even more fun.

fall fashion is having a moment, and apparently so am I.

a little reminder that getting dressed should never stop being fun.

amazing mini content shoot today with my favorite flower fairies @laceandlilies

just a girl and her very subtle holiday wreath.

wreath-making at @laceandlilies is easily one of my favorite cozy season traditions. a little crafting, a little holiday spirit, and apparently absolutely no concept of moderation.

also, handmade wreaths make great hostess gifts… assuming you can bring yourself to part with your masterpiece. which, personally, I cannot. @lisaannlowrie just crushes the wreath game!
