A nice cuppa At 9pm, but make it sleepy...

Builder's brew after 4pm is a no-no from me. Decaf all the way - and layers of night-time herbs. I blended this several years ago, here's who made the cut, and why:

1. Passion flower: the show-off of the bunch. It's been an evening herb from the Americas to Europe for centuries.
2. Lemon balm: soft and lemony. Monks were brewing it to wind down hundreds of years ago.
3. Camomile: the classic. Apples and hay, and the cuppa your nan made you before bed.
4. Verbena: bright and zesty. The French have been sipping it after dinner forever (they call it verveine).
5. Valerian root: smells like old socks, I won't lie, but it's been a bedtime herb for centuries. I've tucked it in at the back so you don't get the socks.
6. Honeybush: naturally sweet and caffeine-free, so you don't need sugar.

Our fat little pyramids are made from cornstarch, so they’re entirely plant-based and fully compostable.

No plastic. No glue. They’re actually sealed together using sound waves (which still feels like magic to me).

Even the little paper tag can go in the compost.

It’s probably not something you think about when you’re making a cup of tea. But when it’s something you drink every day, we think it’s worth thinking about. taken in Cornwall by @four.twentea

A really interesting conversation from the BBC about microplastics caught our attention this week - how they can be hiding in everyday things we never even think about.

Oooh but not ours!

Peach & Basil Iced Tea 🍑

You’ll need:
1 tin of peaches
A handful of fresh basil
A big squeeze of lemon
Loads of ice
Cold-brewed Four Twentea Normalitea

And just like that, we’ve reached the last of our summer iced tea series.

This one is such a good one. Sweet, peachy, refreshing and the perfect use for that tin of peaches that’s been kicking around at the back of the cupboard.

Blend it all together, pour over ice and enjoy.
