Our Organic Herbal Silkie Sand™️

Let’s face it, we all know that Silkies are known for being a little extra in every way. Welcome to the next level of spoiled fowl dust bathing. The ultimate level of spoiled!

Silkie chickens possess a unique genetic mutation that leaves their plumage soft and fur-like, but this exact trait makes them completely defenseless against wet weather. Because their feathers lack water resistance, getting wet and excess moisture poses severe health and safety risks. This dust bath blend is designed specifically with extra moisture absorbing ingredient properties. We added 2X the amount of volcanic ash compared to our Organic Herbal Dust Bath™, that we hand-blend into our dry washed coarse sand. Then we topped it with 2X organic nutrition focused herbs and flowers compared to our Organic Herbal Dust Bath™. This targeted blend will leave your Silkies, or any other dearly spoiled species of birds in your flock, feeling refreshed, energized, and best of all, smelling great! We wanted a product that was nutritious, fragrant and completely safe for your birds...so we had to make it ourselves.

This blend is also great for Polish Chickens who possess similar traits with their signature head crests that also lack good water repellent properties.

Our Organic Molt & Layer Protein Booster™️

During the annual fall molt, a chicken’s body undergoes intense physical stress as it sheds old, worn feathers and regrows an entirely new coat. Protein and oregano play vital, complementary roles in helping birds navigate this demanding phase smoothly.

…and then we decided to add quail. Quail seemed to be a great addition because of their small size and efficiency. They were plentiful egg layers after just 6 weeks. We did a ton of research and discovered that quail eggs are more nutritious than chicken eggs by weight, as they offer a slightly higher concentration of iron and B12. We quickly became obsessed with our new tiny feathered friends, and set out on a mission to do our best by them. However, it was immediately apparent that there was a lot of conflicting care advice and not a ton of quail specific products out there. So we started Fowl Provisions™️ with what we had learned, tested and discovered…and now make organic treats, supplements and health products for your quail, chickens, ducks, bantam, turkey and more! #organic #quail #homestead #fowl #poultry by @fowlprovisions

The flock has spoken! 🐓🌿

We’re always looking for ways to support the health and well-being of our chickens, while staying true to our values here at Wild Acres.

That’s why we chose @fowlprovisions ! Their commitment to organic, corn-free, and soy-free products aligns with our approach to raising a happy, healthy flock.

Today, the girls & Mr. Roo got to sample their Organic Immunity Support Blend and Organic Molt & Layer Protein Booster, and I’d say their first impressions were pretty positive! 🤎

If you’re looking to add some extra goodness to your flock’s routine, use code WILDACRES10 for 10% off your order!

Raised with intention.
