ACTRA Toronto
March 27, 2025

We are thrilled to announce that award-winning Stunt Coordinator (and 2023 ACTRA Toronto Award of Excellence recipient) Angelica Lisk-Hann is your host for the 23rd #ACTRAAwards in Toronto, proudly presented by AFBS and produced by Yellow House Events!

Angelica is an award-winning stunt coordinator, director, actor and mentor, with over three decades of experience in the entertainment industry.

A trailblazer in her field, she made history as the first Black female stunt coordinator in Canada and remains one of a rare few worldwide. With 30+ years as a performer, 15 years as a stunt coordinator and five as a director, Angelica has contributed to over 250 film and television projects worldwide and coordinated stunts for over 80 shows.

Her portfolio features notable projects like the award-winning Book of Negroes, Kick-Ass 2, Clarice, Accused and, for the past two seasons, the record-breaking TV series Cross where she serves as the supervising stunt coordinator and 2nd unit director for the series. Angelica and her business partner Daniel Lavigne were recently nominated for a NAACP Award for their work on Cross.

Angelica’s contributions to the film and television industry extend beyond her work in action. A passionate advocate for stunt recognition, Angelica lobbied the Academy of Canadian Cinema & Television to create the Canadian Screen Award for Best Stunt Coordination and helped establish the ACTRA Stunt Award. Her dedication to excellence was further recognized when she won the 2020 CSA for Best Stunt Coordination for the TV series Mary Kills People. In 2023, Angelica received the prestigious ACTRA Toronto Award of Excellence and was named one of Toronto Life Magazine’s 50 Most Influential People of the Year in 2024, making her the first person from the stunt community to be honoured with either distinction.

We look forward to celebrating the ACTRA Awards at one of Toronto’s most iconic venues: the TELUS Centre for Performance and Learning, Koerner Hall on the evening of Thursday, May 8th. by @foxhann

The Collective Action Group was a proud lead sponsor & VIP tonight of the 2026 Sandi Ross Awards. Sandi was the first Black President of ACTRA Toronto, as well as an incredible actor, activist, director, mentor and friend. She always told me she was proud of me, she always spoke the truth and created opportunities for women of colour. To be able to sponsor her namesake awards tonight during TIFF was an honor. Congratulations to Cameron Pictures-Amy & Tassie Cameron and Shant Joshi. We applaud you for incorporating diversity and inclusion into your work❤️🎉🙏🏽 by @foxhann

Thank you XO TO TIFF for a great night! We had so much fun we didn’t get to take many pictures, but shout outs to Gail and the ACTRA crew, Alistaire and the DGC folks as well as friends and colleagues from IATSE, CMPA and all of the Industry Stakeholders who were in attendance. Olivia Chow, as always, came out to support and got the crowd going with another passionate speech on the importance of supporting the arts and Canadian culture. by @foxhann

Wow! Wow! Wow! We got to see the first 2 Episodes of Below last night at the TIFF Lighthouse and I was blown away. Below is not only a cinematic masterpiece, but it takes you on a journey with an entire town, ecosystem and a way of life that still exists. The drama lands, the mystery is so compelling, the cast led by Josh Hartnett makes you believe you are in this town and the feeling of OMG WTF is going to happen literally has your eyes stuck to the screen. So proud of the cast, stunt team and all involved. 5 months of my life was very well spent working with these humans. Congrats to @netflixca for their first Canadian series! 🎉👏🏽 taken in TIFF Bell Lighthouse by @foxhann

Tonight we get to see what this incredible group of creatives from all over the world made at the TIFF world premire of Below. We shot this limited series over a summer in the beautiful province of Newfoundland. Led by the incomparable @jesse.mckeown. The story tells of a mysterious sea creature who terrorizes a remote fishing town. Big thank you to my agent @sheasahmm @utaproductionarts for connecting me with Chris Hatcher & Allison White adding our stunt team to the mix as well as having me direct some splinter days. This was one of the most challenging shows we have been a part of, shooting for days on the ocean in every kind of weather imaginable but what really stood out the most, was Newfoundland itself. The people, the land and the sea! Please check out Below on Netflix on October 8th!!! by @foxhann
