A proper introduction feels overdue.
I am Sarah Fox - interior designer, founder of Fox Interior Design and someone who has spent 25 years creating London family homes that are as practical as they are beautiful.
.
A few things worth knowing about me and my work:
.
I studied landscape architecture before I trained as a designer - which means I have never quite been able to separate the inside of a home from the world outside it.
.
I started my career in Los Angeles before returning to London, where I have been based ever since.
.
I visit suppliers, stone yards and picture framers in person. I sketch on holiday. I think the cloakroom matters as much as the kitchen. And I genuinely believe that the art on the walls tells you more about a home than anything else in it.
.
My clients are London families who want a home that works beautifully for how they actually live - not a show home, not a magazine set, but somewhere that feels completely and unmistakably theirs.
.
That is the brief I love most. And the one I have been perfecting for 25 years.
If you are new here - welcome. And if you are thinking about a project, I would love to hear about it.

A beautifully considered home deserves its moment in the spotlight!

We are delighted to see this charming Chelsea cottage renovation, by @foxinteriordesign featured in the November issue of @25beautifulhomesmagazine

Clean, calm and classic. The bright and airy shaker kitchen sits effortlessly within the home’s architecture, with timeless cabinetry, subtle stone detailing and warm mid-century furnishings bringing personality to the open-plan living space.

Congratulations to our Roundhouse Professional Team and everyone involved in bringing this beautiful project to life.

What a joy to see this project in print.

Beautiful and Bijou - the November issue of 25 Beautiful Homes Magazine features our Chelsea cottage project across five pages and I could not be more thrilled with how it has been brought to life.

This was always about creating something chic but genuinely liveable. A home that looked beautiful and felt completely relaxed to live in - not a show home, but a real family home with warmth, character and a mid-century soul.

And it very much was a journey we went on together. From the first conversation about what the clients wanted their home to feel like, to the last decision about where a piece of art should hang - every stage was collaborative, considered and genuinely enjoyable. Helping them realise their dream home has been one of the great privileges of my career.

Thank you to @25beautifulhomesmagazine and Mary Weaver @mary_weaver_interiors for featuring us in your November issue. To Mary Wadsworth for the most beautiful photography. And most importantly - thank you to my clients for trusting me with their home.

The November issue is on shelves now.

Sunday at the Decorative Antiques and Textiles Fair at Battersea Park. One of my favourite days in the calendar.
.
I always go with clients in mind - pieces that might suit a project, a chair that could anchor a room, a find that sparks an idea. But if I am honest, I also just go because I love it.
.
Today's highlights: a pair of 1950s chairs with the most beautiful lines. A mid-century furniture collection that had me taking far too many photographs. A Swedish cabinet with proportions so good it made me stop and stare. Eames inspired chairs in exactly the right condition. And the 'stately home' boot scraper at David Levi Antiques that I cannot quite explain but absolutely could not walk past.

This is the part of the job that never feels like work. The searching, the finding, the knowing instinctively when something is right - for a client, for a project, or simply because it is beautiful.
.
Back to the studio tomorrow. Head full of ideas.

Every home we design looks completely different. That is entirely the point.
.
We offer a fully bespoke and collaborative interior design service - which means no two projects ever look the same. What they share is something less visible: a process that starts with listening, a design that is built around how you actually live, and a result that feels completely and unmistakably yours.
.
Whether you are at the very beginning of thinking about a project or ready to start, we would love to hear about it.
.
Follow along for inspiration. Save this if a project is on the horizon. And when you are ready - link in bio.

This one means a great deal.
.
Our Chelsea Cottage project is featured in the November issue of 25 Beautiful Homes magazine - and seeing it in print for the first time is one of those moments that reminds you exactly why this work matters.
.
This was a complete renovation of a bijoux Chelsea cottage into a warm, contemporary family home with a mid-century character. New kitchen, open plan living and dining room, two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a dressing room, a study and a brand new roof terrace with sweeping views across the Chelsea rooftops.
.
Every room designed around how the clients actually live - beautiful, practical and completely theirs.
.
Projects like this are never the work of one person. This one came together through genuine teamwork and a shared commitment to getting every detail right. Industry recognition like this is always encouraging - and always shared.
.
A huge thank you to Mary Weaver for the feature, Mary Wadsworth for the most beautiful photography and @25beautifulhomesmagazine for showcasing the project so beautifully.
Grab your copy of the November issue to see the full feature.

Swipe to see the before. I promise you won't believe it is the same room.
.
This is the guest bedroom in our Chelsea cottage project - and one of the transformations I am most proud of from this project.
.
The brief was to create a genuine sanctuary for guests. A room that felt warm, enveloping and completely considered - the kind of room that makes someone feel they have been given somewhere truly special to stay.
.
The woodland wallpaper was the starting point bringing a feeling of nature inside. From the moment it went up, the whole room found its character. Layered bedlinen, a natural wood headboard, bespoke curtains framing the bay window, carefully chosen artwork - every decision made to work together as one complete scheme.
.
And then the before shots. A bare shell of a room, the joinery being installed, the potential completely hidden. This is the part of the process that nobody sees - and the part that makes the finished room possible.
.
After 25 years designing London homes, the before and after never gets old.
.

This is what a week in interior design actually looks like.
.
No two weeks in this job look the same. This one was a particularly good one.
.
It started at a Design Week breakfast surrounded by the most beautiful new rug collections - the best possible way to begin a Monday. From there, cocktails with friends exploring new lighting, furniture and fabric launches. The kind of evening that fills a notebook and a head full of ideas in equal measure.
.
Mid-week, a visit to a project in Holland Park to see our newly upholstered chairs - because some things need to be seen in person before they go anywhere near a client's home.
.
Then onto Wentworth for a day of networking on the golf course. Surrounded by extraordinary homes and genuinely good company. I am calling it research.
.
Summer soiree celebrating industry friends.
.
A site meeting to check progress on a bathroom strip-out - the space cleared back to its bones, ready for the new stone and fittings that will transform it completely.
.
And then the week ended in the most spectacular fashion at the HQR Ball at Grosvenor House @hqrlondon - connecting with friends and colleagues from across the high quality residential sector in one of London's most beautiful rooms.
.
After 25 years in this industry, weeks like this remind me how fortunate I am. The creativity, the community, the variety - no two days the same and every single one of them interesting.
I genuinely love what I do.

Focus Design Week at the Design Centre Chelsea Harbour. A day that reminded me exactly why I love this industry.
.
It started with breakfast and ended with a party - and in between, a full day of everything that makes this week so special. New rug, fabric and trimming collections that stopped me in my tracks. Design talks from people who have been doing this work at the highest level for decades. Showrooms full of things I immediately started mentally placing in upcoming projects.

And the friendships.

This is something people outside the industry sometimes miss about interior design - how genuinely warm and collaborative a community it is. The colleagues I have known for years, the new connections made over a coffee between showrooms, the conversations that started about a fabric and ended somewhere much more interesting. These relationships are one of the privileges of the job and I never take them for granted.

After 25 years in this industry, weeks like this are a reminder that the learning never stops. There is always a new collection that changes how you think about a material, a talk that shifts your perspective, an idea picked up in a showroom that finds its way into a project months later.

I have come away from today with a notebook full of ideas and a head full of inspiration. September is going to be a very good month.

What separates a beautiful house from a home you never want to leave?
.
After 25 years designing London family homes, I have come to believe it comes down to five things. Swipe through for all of them - but here is the heart of it:
.
It is never just about how a room looks. It is about how it feels to live in it. The materials that invite you to touch them. The vintage piece that could not have come from a catalogue. The palette that came from looking out of the window rather than at a paint chart. The way the space flows around how a family actually moves through their day. And the personal pieces - the art, the books, the family photographs - that mean a room could only ever belong to these particular people.
.
A home with soul is never quite finished. It grows with the people who live in it.
.
After 25 years designing London family homes, these are the principles I return to on every project. Which one resonates most with you? I would love to know in the comments.

If you are thinking about creating a home with more character and warmth, I would love to talk. Link in bio.

The room that deserves as much thought as any other. And rarely gets it.
.
Bathrooms are one of the most underestimated rooms in any home. Clients will spend months on a kitchen brief and sometimes treat the bathroom as an afterthought. But the detail involved in getting a bathroom right is considerable - and the difference between a bathroom that works and one that genuinely feels special is felt every single day.
.
This is a recent master ensuite transformation. The brief was to create something serene and timeless - warm in character, considered in every detail and designed to feel luxurious without being excessive.
.
The plumbing layout came first - decisions that are invisible in the finished room but determine everything about how the space functions. Then the bathroom furniture and fittings - chosen for their quality, their finish and how they would sit alongside the stone. And then the tiles - always one of the most important decisions in any bathroom we design. Chosen in collaboration with the clients who wanted a statement tile that was practical too so we have gone for porcelain tiles with a copper blue patina in large formats.
.
Before and after. The transformation speaks for itself. But the real story is everything that happened in between

There is a particular feeling at the end of a summer holiday that I always recognise.
.
The light has changed. The evenings are a little cooler. And somewhere between the last swim and the journey home, you feel it - that quiet readiness for what comes next.
.
Ibiza this year was everything. Beaches with water so clear you cannot quite believe it. Mountains that turn gold in the evening light. Days by the pool doing very little and thinking quite a lot. And a family wedding overlooking the bay that reminded me why some places are simply magical.
.
For an interior designer, Ibiza is impossible to visit without noticing things. The whitewashed walls and terracotta floors. The way outdoor and indoor living blur completely in the heat. The textures - linen, stone, aged wood, beaten copper. The colours that only exist in Mediterranean light. As our summers get warmer, this kind of living feels less like a foreign concept and more like something to bring home.
.
I am now back at my desk - refreshed, inspired and genuinely excited about what September holds. Two new projects beginning. More to share very soon.
.
Thank you for following along this summer. The best is yet to come.
