On my way to Ralphs this morning, I walked past @eliesaabworld and it reminded me of Meshal’s gown she wore for her rehearsal dinner.

They had a beautiful evening in early June at Lost Creek Ranch for their 3 day, wedding weekend. This was night two and thankfully the sun came out for rehearsal dinner! Really added to her colorful gown and jewels and lit up the festivities before the wedding.

It’s wild to think that this year we are having such an early spring and it’ll be looking like this a month early!

The first wedding I ever shot on film 💕

I had been practicing shooting on film at editorials and elopements. But this wedding I got to shoot with 3 film cameras. One of them being my old Kodak, those ones are the black and white pictures 😍

It’s so cool to have picked up a camera at a garage sale and then get to shoot such amazing images from it!

Nothing can ever compete with film and one of my only regrets in my business is taking so long to be brave enough to shoot it at weddings. I kept telling myself it was too hard, too stressful, too expensive, and plenty of other excuses.

I’ve grown out of that phase and now if I feel fear or that I start to make an excuse, I know it’s time to dive in.

Some days I wish we could just go back to everything being film. How beautiful life was without cell phones and immediate pictures 💕

Trying to choose 20 slides was impossible so after the 4th attempt I just went with what I had and you’re going to have to get ready to get spammed because some weddings are just too beautiful.

Beautiful in the moments that unfolded. Unplanned, rained on, raw moments of joy.

Gorgeous details and a tent full of laughter.

This is what weddings are about.

So here is a small taste of some really fun people celebrating love.

If Bacalar, Mexico isn’t on your travel list yet, consider this your sign to add it, along with a stay at @lavalisebacalar_ , where the jungle meets the lagoon. You’re surrounded by wildlife, and it’s an experience you’ll never forget.

If you haven’t heard of Bacalar, you’ll find it on the southern end of the Yucatán Peninsula, still part of Quintana Roo and close to the Belize border. The town is quaint and beautiful, with an 18th-century fort that was built to keep out the pirates who once sailed in through the lagoon.

The real star is the Lagoon of Seven Colors, a freshwater lagoon about 55 km long (and crazy deep in some areas) that shifts from pale turquoise to deep indigo depending on the depth and the cenotes feeding it from below. Since it’s fresh water, there are no sharks, crocs, or currents, so you can float, swim, and paddle without a care in the world. It’s honestly one of the most relaxing places I’ve ever been in the water.

We spent part of our trip at La Valise, and I fell in love with being in the jungle. From our stay in a treehouse to the rapid rainstorms, there was something magical about being surrounded by green and taking a slow walk down to the lagoon. Not to mention the monkeys living in the trees around you. I sadly kept missing them, so no pics, but you can bet I’ll be ready when I go back!

Once we were on the lagoon, kayaking and sunbathing made for a perfect day that I would repeat over and over and over.

If you love birds, this is a dream spot too. The Yucatán sits on one of the most important migration routes in the world, and when the weather cools up north, millions of birds come back down to winter here. The lagoon even has its own bird sanctuary, Isla de los Pájaros.

One of our favorite things we did was a sailing trip around the lagoon with @malezabioturismo . Sailing and paddling are the way to explore here, since motorboats are discouraged to protect the water and the stromatolites, living formations tied to some of the earliest life on Earth. Bacalar is one of only a handful of places in the world where they still grow.

Save this for your future trip to Bacalar, and come say hi to the monkeys for me! taken in Bacalar, Mexico by @foxtailsphotography

Nothing beats a rooftop and @julietterooftop might just have the best one in Jackson Hole!

It hits even better when @encounterhatco has a hat bar set up for guests and @amandajeweleventdesign florals are making a statement!

If you’re looking for the perfect place downtown Jackson for a private event space then you gotta make sure to stop by @hoteljackson and sneak a peek at their rooftop with @julietterooftop

Imagine a fall wedding at the top of Snow King with those epic Teton views.

Your guests ride the gondola up, step off above the town of Jackson, and the whole valley is glowing gold below them.

In October, the aspens turn yellow and the grasses fade into those warm tones. This team built the entire editorial around that light.

Amanda Jewel’s florals carried the colors of the hillside straight onto the tablescape and ceremony florals. So every arrangement looked like it belonged to the landscape.

If you’re planning a Jackson Hole wedding and want a venue that feels elevated in every sense, Snow King’s summit deserves a spot on your list. You get the mountain views without leaving town, and the gondola ride becomes part of the experience for your guests.

I also love that this look leaned modern instead of western. Western is everywhere right now, and I love it but it’s not for everyone. This goes to show that you can have an elegant mountain wedding without it.

The clean, modern lines of the Ricca Sposa gown, Tracey Garcias impeccable beauty and hair, and even the chairs helped pull the whole design in a more modern direction.

It’s proof that a Jackson Hole fall wedding can feel refined and current while still letting the mountains take center stage.

Lauren and Andrew… and me of the most beautiful elopements I’ve ever photographed.

It’s bittersweet when it all wraps… I’m going to miss looking forward to it but I’m cherishing the laughter and these photographs forever.

Andrew grew up coming to Jackson every summer and he continued that with Lauren. Gloriettas became one of their favorite date night hangs and talking their dogs for walks under the Tetons a staple of their life when in Jackson.

So it only made sense for them to say “I Do” with their best man and maid of honor being their dogs.

I appreciate how intentional these two kept it. They didn’t want an officiant, no family or friends. They wore their wedding rings to say their vows and have an epic ceremony at Snake River Ranch.

I could go on and on about how precious this all was but I’ll let the photos speak the rest

A few favorite film shots from summer.

We’ve had some beautiful clouds this year and it’s only driving my passion for this art.

Summer flew by, so it’s nice to sit down and reflect on some moments. Most of it was fast paced and a lot of life changes, but I found myself on the mountain more than ever since starting this business.

Being able to have time off in the summer is rare in the wedding industry and taking the year off from weddings is unheard of. But I did it and I still found myself with a successful business. Now that I’m into my fall elopements, I’m reflecting on my schedule for next year and how I can balance weddings, sessions, elopements, and time off.

Hopefully with a lot more time in the saddle and a few more miles under my boots. taken in Wyoming by @foxtailsphotography

A big congratulations to these two who got engaged last week!

Had so much fun photographing their proposal in Grand Teton National Park and am LOVING Cindy’s yellow dress popping against those mountain blues.

We lucked out with an overcast day and small moments of sunshine which was so pretty on the lake!

Just can’t get over how gorgeous these engagement pics are and that I get to be so lucky to share such intimate moments with couples in one of the most gorgeous places on earth! taken in Grand Teton National Park by @foxtailsphotography

Details that give your wedding a little extra magic! As a photographer, I know we are all obsessed with details. And while I LOVE the candid moments and emotion the most, there is soemthign striking about every detail the couple chooses for their wedding day. It’s really adds a personal touch and getting to see all the pieces that you put your heart, soul, (a lot of money) and who you are into really matters! This wedding I had so much fun on with @meghansavagephoto It was beyond gorgeous in the lush florals and every piece added to the day that made it pop! Which was so good since the Tetons were covered up in such thick smoke 😭 Truly flowed in the most perfect way! taken in Jackson, Wyoming by @foxtailsphotography
