What distinguishes FP from the rest?

It’s results like these that distinguishes FP from everyone else on the market. When it comes to getting humans more athletic and sustainable, no one does it better.

When you understand the principles FP builds off of you can attain results like these effortlessly because you will begin to understand how your body actually works.

We don’t use a band aid approach to solving your pains and dysfunctions, we actually solve them at their core. Instead of trying to fix your issues in a isolated manner, FP elicits a global change so that your pains are gone for good.

When these global changes take place and you begin to morph into a functional beast of a human, you’ll understand the difference between FP and the rest of the crowd.

Fixing your mechanics and solving your problems will become fun because you’ll finally have the right tools for the job.

Lower Back Instability β†’ To Better Movement Integration

Despite maintaining a regular habit of playing volleyball, his sedentary work and poor posture gradually affected how he moved and performed on the court.

His lower back often felt unstable and difficult to control, while limited hip mobility and poor limb to torso coordination made movements that were once natural feel increasingly difficult.

Through Functional Patterns, he focused on rebuilding movement integration, structural alignment, and core stability. As his lower back began to re-engage more effectively, his overall stability improved and his discomfort significantly decreased.

Great work Hsu Jia Hao.

Recurring Hip Pain β†’ To Better Movement Awareness

His hip pain initially developed around the front of the right hip and hip flexor area after barbell squats. Stretching and yoga did not resolve the issue, and flare ups would consistently reach around 6/10.

He also presented with hyperflaccid tendencies, knee lockout, anterior hip tilt and shift, scapular dyskinesis, and asymmetrical positioning between the hips and ribcage.

After working with a Functional Patterns practitioner, he learned how to approach movement differently through specific exercises and concepts. Over four years, his back line became more active, core engagement improved, muscle mass increased, and scapular dyskinesis and structural asymmetries showed clear improvements.

Today, flare ups are rare. When he notices symptoms beginning, he has a better understanding of how to address the problem early, often preventing significant pain from developing.

Before FP

❌ Hyperflaccid tendencies
❌ Knees locking out
❌ Anterior hip tilt and shift
❌ Scapular dyskinesis

Movement Challenges β†’ To Better Coordination & Control

As a lifelong athlete and fitness enthusiast, he continued searching for ways to maintain his physical capabilities after his diagnosis.

When he discovered FP, the challenge was different from conventional fitness. The work required him to coordinate neuromuscular responses to his practitioner’s cues, helping him develop greater awareness and control of his movement patterns.

Over nearly three years of consistent training, he reports noticeable improvements in both exercise and day to day movement, including posture, core tension, arm and leg coordination, hip flexion and extension, and overall structural organization.

Joint Pain & Structural Imbalances β†’ To Pain-Free Movement

Years of intense sports placed significant demands on his body, eventually leading to persistent joint pain that he struggled to resolve through different methods.

Before FP, he experienced hip impingement at 9/10, sciatica at 8/10, elbow tendonitis at 7/10, and knee and ankle pain at 4/10. He also presented with poor joint stacking, lumbar compression, depressed shoulders, deficient cranium positioning, and structural asymmetries.

After discovering FP, he committed to the process through close work with practitioners, online programs, and FP tools. By focusing on structural integrity and how his body organizes force, his pain gradually decreased while his movement and structural organization improved.

Stiffness & Limited Mobility β†’ To More Fluid Movement

With a background in CrossFit, she came to Precision looking to improve her mobility and address long-standing limitations in her neck and lower back.

Before starting FP training, neck mobility was restricted and her lower back felt significantly stiff, limiting how freely she could move. She also often felt sluggish and tired throughout the day.

After four months of consistent training, she noticed a significant decrease in fatigue and major improvements in mobility, energy, posture, and overall well-being.

Movements that once felt stiff and uncomfortable began to feel more natural, fluid, and controlled.

Postural Imbalances β†’ Better Alignment & Athletic Performance

His parents brought him to Functional Patterns to improve his posture and athleticism after noticing that he struggled to keep up with his peers during PE. They also noticed shallow breathing and an uneven standing posture, although he did not experience any pain.

After three months of training twice per week, he showed significant improvements in his ribcage and pelvic alignment. These changes helped create a more organized structure and improved his overall movement capacity.

His parents also noticed clear improvements in his athleticism, particularly with running and jumping. With better alignment and movement efficiency, he is now better able to participate in PE and athletics and keep up with his peers.

Great work @patrick_ly_

Before FP:

Pain & Instability β†’ 0/10 Pain & Integrated Movement

He had trained with weights from age 15 to 30, but since 2023 his lower back had frequently felt locked up, with discomfort when leaning his trunk forward. Although he did not experience pain severe enough to stop daily activities, muscle soreness and instability made it difficult to participate consistently in sports such as soccer, tennis, and padel.

He started Functional Patterns in October 2025. Over the following months, he noticed improvements in scapula positioning, hip alignment, and anterior hip tilt, along with an apparent reduction in knee varus positioning.

Beyond the physical changes, he developed greater awareness of how his body works as a connected system. Walking, sitting, climbing stairs, and playing sports now feel more integrated, and he reports less muscle soreness, fewer injuries, and improved hip stability during sports.

Persistent Pain & Stiffness β†’ 0/10 Pain

In 2008, at 17, he was diagnosed with scoliosis after an instructor noticed the curvature in his back during his final year of high school. He had been physically active throughout childhood through swimming and later played rugby, but the years that followed brought conflicting advice about whether he should restrict activity or move and build muscle.

In 2022, he discovered Functional Patterns and began training with a practitioner three times a week in 2023. Within a few weeks, he noticed his pain beginning to subside.

He later deepened his FP training through HF and HBS1, added virtual sessions, and continued training independently. By February 2026, he was completing two virtual sessions per week alongside one solo session.

The result was a complete reduction in his reported pain across the activities that previously caused symptoms.

Before FP:

❌ Lower back pain after daily activities: 7/10
❌ Lower back pain after cycling: 8/10
❌ Knee pain after cycling: 6/10

Limited Hip Drive β†’ Better Movement & Pain Free Daily Life

Before starting Functional Patterns in June 2025, he had limited hip extension and reduced posterior chain drive, along with neck pain and headaches that could reach 4/10 when working from the couch.

Through 30 sessions, he developed better activation and awareness of muscles he previously didn't realize were underactive. His walking feels different, his posture has improved while standing and sitting, and running feels lighter even at higher speeds.

His neck pain and headaches are now gone, including when working from less conventional positions like the couch.

Great work @_edmundkenny
