If you want to be fair, never compare.

We often compare the one thing we lack with the one thing someone else seems to have in abundance.

But we never see their full story. Their past, their present, or what their future holds.

God has given each of us our own share of blessings.

God desires only one thing for us.

But He will never force our choices.

God may guide us, warn us and reveal what is before us, but He respects the free will He created within each of us.

He shows us the way. We choose whether to follow.

“Who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.”
1 Timothy 2:4

Would God boast about you? 👀

In the book of Job, God speaks about Job before the angels, calling him “blameless and upright”, a man who fears God and shuns evil. 🙏🏽

Imagine God speaking about you in heaven.

What would He say?
What would He see? ❤️

A powerful reminder that our lives should reflect the One who created us and loves us beyond measure.

Icons of Faith ✨

Every Coptic icon tells a story, with each colour and detail pointing us back to Christ and the lives of His saints. ☦️

“But we all… are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory.”
2 Corinthians 3:18

May we also strive to reflect Christ in our lives, just as the saints did.

Conflict & the Triple T Approach ✨

Conflict is not a matter of if, but when.

The real question is not whether conflict will come, but how we choose to respond when it does. While conflict can be painful, God can use it for growth, healing, and the greater good.

More often than not, the greatest obstacle to resolution is not the disagreement itself, but our pride and ego. We become more focused on being right than on finding peace.

The Triple T Approach:

• Time – Think before you react. Give yourself time before responding.
• Truth – Remain truthful and stand by what is right.
• Trust – Trust God through forgiveness, reconciliation, and difficult conversations.

When we set aside pride, choose truth, and place our trust in God, conflict can become an opportunity for grace rather than division. 🤍

Packing Away the Holy Vessels ✨

As the liturgy comes to its end, the Church does not rush.
Every vessel is folded, covered, and placed away with reverence and thanksgiving.

While Psalm 47 is prayed, we thank God for allowing us to stand before Him today, and we ask Him to grant us the blessing of returning again to His altar. 🤍

Nothing in the liturgy is random.
Even the closing moments are filled with prayer, order, and love.

“Blessed is the man whom You choose, and cause to approach You, that he may dwell in Your courts.”
Psalm 65:4

Partaking of the Holy Communion

Not a single jewel is forgotten.

As the priest gathers every crumb from the paten, the Church reminds us of something beautiful: every soul matters before God. No one is unseen, no one is left behind.

From the final partaking of the Holy Body and Blood, to the washing of the sacred utensils and the sign of the cross upon the senses, every detail carries reverence, meaning, and love. 🤍

“Those whom You gave Me I have kept; and none of them is lost.”
John 17:12

As the Confession begins, the Church prepares the heart before receiving the Holy.

“The Holies are for the holy” is declared not as a statement of who we are, but who we are called to become. Holiness is not ours by nature, but given to us through Christ who carried our sins.

The Lamb, once chosen in the offertory, now bears what was placed upon Him. Every confession, every silent prayer, every bow is a return. A surrender.

The Master is placed into the chalice in the form of the Cross, revealing a truth: the sacrifice is not remembered… it is present.

Covered, hidden, yet fully there.

The priest bows. The deacon confesses. The Church humbles itself together. Before partaking, we ask forgiveness. From God. From one another.

Because communion is not just receiving. It is reconciliation.

A mystery of repentance, humility, and union.

As the Fraction continues, the breaking of the Holy Body unfolds with profound meaning, not in randomness, but in divine order. Each movement of the priest forms the sign of the Cross, revealing that everything begins and ends with Christ’s sacrifice.

The Body is divided with purpose: the head, the feet, the sides, and the center. At the heart lies the “Ezbaticon,” the Master, symbolising our Lord Jesus Christ. As it is kissed, we proclaim a powerful truth: we honour and glorify His wounds, front and back, through which salvation was given to the world.

Twelve breaks are made, each one a reminder of His disciples and the twelve tribes, a unity of the Old and New Covenant. His Body was broken not for a few, but for all. For the whole world.

And even for the one who turned away… He was still offered.

A mystery of love, sacrifice, and a call to belong.

This Good Friday, let this be for all of us.

In the beginning, we chose independence. We tried to be our own gods, and in doing so, we created separation from the source of life.

Even now, we hold onto control, building lives that look full, yet feel empty within.

But the cross tells a different story.

Christ was crucified between two thieves. Not by accident.
What was taken in the garden, He came to restore on the cross.

Not just forgiveness, but restoration.

This Good Friday, may we remember, we were never meant to live without Him.

This Easter, let this be for all of us.

In the story of Book of Genesis, Adam and Eve covered themselves with fig leaves, choosing what was quick, easy, and looked good in the moment. But those leaves didn’t last. They withered. They had gaps. They were never enough.

And in the Gospel of Mark, the fig tree looked full from a distance, yet up close, it had no fruit.

Sometimes, we can be the same. We focus on appearances, on what looks right outwardly, while inside we may be struggling with things we hide - judgment, pride, fear, or selfishness.

But Easter calls all of us to something deeper. Not just to look whole, but to be whole. Not just to cover, but to be transformed.

Because what is temporary will fade, but what is real, honest, humble, and rooted in truth will remain.

This Easter, may we choose growth over appearance, truth over hiding, and fruit over leaves. by @fr.david.ramzy
