MISTY – TSUYOSHI YAMAMOTO TRIO

An absolute pillar of J-Jazz. Tsuyoshi Yamamoto’s touch on the piano is legendary: a perfect mix of blues, swing, and lyrical elegance that culminates in a spine-chilling version of the title track
Released by the legendary Three Blind Mice label, this vinyl is world-famous for its astounding sound quality. Thanks to the work of engineer Yoshihiko Kannari, the dynamics are insane: the piano is crisp and percussive, the double bass is incredibly deep, and it feels like having the trio playing right in your living room. Zero background noise, just pure three-dimensional fidelity

Dexter Gordon enters the legendary Van Gelder Studio and records GO! — an absolute masterclass in elegance, swing, and pure bebop.
From the infectious rhythm of “Cheese Cake” to the deep melancholy of “I Guess I’ll Hang My Tears Out to Dry”, Gordon’s tenor sax doesn’t just play: it speaks, it breathes, it commands the room.
Backed by a flawless rhythm section (Sonny Clark, Butch Warren, Billy Higgins), this isn’t just an album. It’s the definitive sound of Blue Note Records at its absolute peak

Takin’ Off - Herbie Hancock

A 22-year-old Herbie Hancock was recording ‘Takin’ Off’, his debut album. The result? An hard bop masterpiece featuring one of the most iconic and sampled tracks in jazz history: Watermelon Man. Joining him, a legendary band with Freddie Hubbard on trumpet and Dexter Gordon on sax. Simply essential
