99 years of you.

I remember, I stepped away from the chaos of adulthood, searching for a little peace, and found myself returning to the place that had always felt like home — to you and my lolas. And somehow, in the quiet familiarity of it all, life felt beautiful again.

I remember taking these photos on one of those ordinary mornings, you would walk to your patio after breakfast, either drinking your coffee or just sinking in the morning sun. Just you, your little routines, and the quiet comfort of being home.

I remember thinking, while capturing all candid photos of you, the inevitability - how could I ever bear a world where you were no longer in it?

Where I witnessed it all: Your house, My home, The ancestral home.

Where everyone in the family, at some point or chapter in their lives, have lived here, spent nights here, laughed, got drunk, shed tears, got clarity, and had beautiful grounded mornings with you.

You have literally watched me grow up. From my baptismal..

To my first birthday..

To losing all my baby teeth, and all the summers I spent - where my favorite place on earth would be your bedroom.

To the stories you and my lolas would tell, over and over, even to this day — of my little self jumping endlessly on the headboard of your bed, while everyone watched in panic, terrified that I might fall and hurt myself 😂

To my school ceremonies.. wow, wow, wow. I am so blessed to have you there.

And even a decade after, where it’s my sister’s turn for you to watch her grow up too

All the birthdays with you

All the Christmas and New Years with you

And a generation of families after you. You are the glue, the Matriarch. You memorize all our names, our stories, and all the lores. You never forget

And what a privilege it is, that we, your great grandkids, got to bless your hand, heard you say “walk around the table” after a full meal, held us to sleep while you sing “gereng gereng gedong dong”, reminded us to love our families, save money, to be p taken in Montserrat Subd.,Sto.Angel Sur,Sta. Cruz, Laguna by @fralantic

Two decades ago, 2 grade schoolers wore friendship bracelets (before that was even a thing) to commemorate being brends aka BestfRiENDS🤣 Fast forward to today, we are still celebrating all the years of being friends throughout all changes in life.
