What a buzz last Friday the 13th was. Getting to witness one of the pioneers of techno perform his craft live playing vinyl records in a big open warehouse with hundreds of strangers... it felt like I travelled back in time for a bit. It's rare but I like when people show up just for the music. Not to be seen. Not to party. Not to forget their problems and get fucked up. But to be present where you are because you cared enough to show up and be there so why not fully immerse in the experience now because before you know it'll be gone. This was one of those nights.

Anyways, the crackle and pop of the vinyl records was a small detail I really noticed all night long and congrats to @measuredivide for sharing the stage with @jeff_mills_official that's some legendary shit by @frames.of.frank

The pure violence of nature must be respected

Hiking up a volcanic mountain in the pitch black of night to watch an active eruption is definitely a highlight of life so far. while my tour group wanted to get closer to the crater for selfies I decided to sit down and just watch the eruption along with another active volcano off in the distance. looking at the cities below knowing they are just one disaster away from total annihilation. then I began to meditate on the impermanence of life; nothing I ever worried about seemed to matter when sitting on a giant rock exploding and spewing blood of the earth that could end us all just like in Pompeii or Herculaneum. that immediate sense of danger and urgency and the raw power of nature put my mortality into hyper-focus. this was almost 5 years ago and I still relive this moment whenever my mind is caught up in stupid shit that doesn't actually matter - burn it down and cherish only that which is still standing after the fire

Monday : got to see Lamb of God & Pantera UP CLOSE with some good people in that mosh even though I ended up losing the Russian Circles patch off my jacket

Tuesday : a few underground artists on the rise - Provoker was awesome live, good energy and tribute to Luis. Riki was a pleasant surprise as I've never heard of her before and now I'm a fan.
