How I fell in love with sweden - part 1
Early this summer we travelled to sweden with a rental van and it was incredible.
We only saw a very small part of it but I have never experienced such diversity of nature.
Every time I think of this trip it gives me the feel to grab all my stuff and move.

Things I miss the most when I remember my life in a big City - the amount of vegan optional.
Everytime I visit cologne I love to try all new options
But this Vegan Kebab always makes me come back to this restaurant

Long time no see...
A few weeks ago I bought myself a new camera - Canon EOS R7 with the default 18-150 lens. I liked it a lot even if there were some situation I wish I would have also bought the 100-400 but this is coming in the future.

Sadly I got sick and couldn't play around with it. But now I have been to Norderney and went on my first tour.

Here are some shots from my trip.

What I also want to do is learning some photo editing. Where do I start? Just try something out or learn by doing some courses and watching guides?
Not quite sure yet.

On my second tour with my camera, I already did some research how to use the manual mode and have been trying different settings.

It was sunny and hot, not the best settings for good photos, atleast thats what I learned the other day.

I came a long a field with many fruit trees and a sign that there are "christmas gooses" that live on this field, they eat the fruits that are good and fall from the trees. At night, they are going inside their stall to protect them from foxes.

There was an article from 2023 that estimated 12.5 million goose are eaten every year in germany - especially on Martinstag (11th of November) and in the christmas time.
I found a statictis from 2020 that said that 60% of goose meat in germany is eaten in november and december. Most meat is imported from eastern europe... I guess they do not live on a big grassland with fruit trees.
I find it kind of funny that the meat consumption rises by 30% on christmas (according to a study I've read) and goose meat is right at the top.
Poor Animals. But atleast these goose, seem to have a good life (Atleast if you do not consider that they get killed)

This summer I have been near Freiburg and found some time to finally grap my camera and went out with it.
My first tour ever with my camera and I had no clue what to do with it.
Luckily I came across a few very close cows and could make some shots.

While I was completly sweating due to 33 degree outside, I was wondering about two things.

1 - the cows had a lot of space to graze but there was close to zero shadow on their grassland.
Optimal temperatures for cows are between 4 to 16 celsius, so 33 is a bit higher. I did not see any water nearby and the only shadow was given by a tree. Temperatures above 24 degrees can resolve into heat stress, which has a lot of negative influence on the animal.
There seem to be some rules on how much shadows there has to be but I did not found any institute that have a closer look on grasslands.
I felt bad for this cows but I guess it is still better than being trapped in a small cell or even worse being on a chain and cannot move at all.

2 - there were so many flies on every cow. They were shaking their heads or trying to hit the flies with their tail.
There are different types of flies and they all lead to a lot of stress for the cows and some even bring different diseases for the cows.
This is also connected to my first point - heat.
It is recommended to let the cows out to pasture only in the early hours of the day or at night
Of course there is also chemical stuff to prevent this but this is also not a healthy solution for the animals.
