I use my ears more than my eyes to click birds. Often people asks me how to locate a kingfisher? The answer is -
Listen for a sharp, high-pitched, metallic whistle or call. Listen for a distinct "plop" sound when they dive into the water to catch a fish. Scan low-hanging branches, wooden stakes, or posts located 1 to 4 meters above the clean slow moving water surface.

White-breasted Waterhen . Though it is very common in Asia but it's not always easy to capture in a clear background. Once they see you, they will rush into the vegetation. They only come out when they see you've left the place. It was taken in 2023 or 2024.

Yesterday was World Wetland day. I was too busy to post anything on Instagram. Today I wanna say something through the post that why we need to know about these days and celebrate more and more. The main purpose is to highlight that wetlands are critical for biodiversity, water purification, and flood control. But we don't have teachers who are educated enough to teach how to take care of the environment where we live and to spread awareness. Wetlands are disappearing three times faster than forests. As wetlands are disappearing, we are loosing species who inhabits there. Numbers of migratory birds are decreasing in a alarming number in wetlands. I found 45+ species of migratory birds in wetlands. It's not possible to share all of them in a single post. Here are some species of birds through my lens that I found so far in wetlands of different places.

How could I expect a sunset better than this?? Sunset is always my favourite. This Iora is chasing the last rays of a fiery sun.

The true beauty and state bird of Karnataka, Odisha, and Telangana.

In the quiet of the wetlands, every ripple tells a story. This striking reflection highlights the delicate balance of life, where patience meets opportunity. A beautiful reminder of the simple, elegant cycles of the natural world.

National Bird Day 🕊️ and 2000 followers special post The Himalayan Vulture (Gyps himalayensis) is listed as Near Threatened (NT) on the IUCN Red List. This post is just to aware people about wildlife. This is more than just a beautiful sight; it is a vital part of our ecosystem currently facing the threat of extinction. When we lose a species, we lose a piece of the natural balance that sustains us all.
By protecting their habitats today, we ensure the skies remain full of life tomorrow. Let’s choose conservation over silence. 🌏🦅

A sunrise post for the new morning of this year with Mt Kanchenjunga and this bird couple.. Wish you all a very happy new beginning.... Never ever thought that God will be so kind to me that he would allow me to watch them so closely. Every minute was worth it that I stayed up for the whole night. If I tell in bengali
