Among all the brown autumn leaves, this beautiful yellow leaf caught my eye. I just had to take a photo. 🍂💛

The forest is still remarkably dry, with very few mushrooms to be found. That's exactly why this inkcap caught my eye.

It was clearly nearing the end of its short life, but that made it even more fascinating. Its delicate, shaggy cap and dark, glossy ink droplets along the edge are a beautiful reminder that even in decay, nature has its own kind of beauty. 💚

Tiny, but definitely hard to miss 👀🕷️. I absolutely loved those bright green eyes against the warm autumn colours 💚🍂. Jumping spiders are so fascinating. They are curious and very fast!

A true autumn classic in the forest: the bay bolete. 🍂🍄
With its warm chestnut-brown cap and sturdy pale stem, it stood beautifully among the fallen leaves.

Like a tiny flame growing straight out of the moss. 🔥🧡
This bright orange fungus immediately stood out against all the green. Up close, its branching tips almost look like little flames rising from the forest floor.

I think this might be a Blusher mushroom, although I’m not completely sure 🍄🤍. I especially loved the soft pink tones and the almost powdery texture on the cap.

I actually went out to photograph a mushroom… 🍄📸 Then I suddenly noticed these tiny red dots right beside me. When I took a closer look, I discovered red-tipped lichen. And up close it almost looks like a tiny alien landscape 👽❤️. Especially from the angle in the first photo… such a strange and beautiful little world 😍

🍄This tiny mushroom was hidden between the moss. A short rain shower had just passed, leaving its cap beautifully glossy in the soft light. ✨

🐸 Pad op een pad… letterlijk. 😄
Enne... kijkt hij niet een béétje grumpy? 😂

🐸 Toad on the road!
During a walk with my little boy, he suddenly shouted: “Mum, there’s a frog on the road!”
Luckily, I had my camera bag with me for one of those classic you-never-know moments. This was the last photo, already safely in the grass. After that, he simply carried on his way. 😉
Doesn’t he look just a little bit grumpy? 😂.

Als je toch al pompoenen hebt… 🎃🍂

When you already have pumpkins… 🎃🍂
A few more favourites from our little autumn shoot. That golden evening light made it even better. 🤎

Something a little different from the usual cap and stem 😄🍄
These tiny coral-like fungi growing between the moss were so much fun to photograph. All those delicate little branches almost make them look like a miniature forest of their own 📸✨
