It’s often the small moments that stay with me the longest. Not necessarily the ones you plan for, but the ones that somehow become part of the story.

Picking up our buoy in the middle of the night after watching Stromboli throw glowing lava into the darkness. Lying in bed during a storm, feeling the boat rock beneath us while I watched the mast swing from side to side through the window. Our brilliant idea to take the dinghy ashore in rough seas. The cooking sessions, sailing past volcanic islands, the smell of sulphur in the air, and later, the voices of market vendors echoing through the streets of Palermo.

Some trips give you stories you’ll probably still be telling years from now. This is one for sure.♥️

Thank you to the best crew, Vane, Sandra and our captain Philipp. I honestly can’t remember the last time I laughed this much in a single week.🫶🏻 taken in Sicily, Italy by @framethe.world

Sicily, you make it very hard to leave. 🇮🇹
Days spent sailing from island to island, dropping anchor in quiet bays and jumping straight into the blue. Salt in the air, sun on our skin and somehow always the smell of pizza and pasta drifting through the streets.

Then Cefalù. Wandering through the little streets with a cannolo in hand, stopping here and there, and watching the town turn golden as the sun goes down. Italy just has a way of making life feel very simple. Good food, the sea, warm evenings and nowhere you really need to be. And yes, pizza every day is still a very good idea 😅🍕 taken in Sicily, Italy by @framethe.world

Sailing with dolphins somewhere off the coast of Sicily🐬⛵️

One of those moments you don’t plan for. They just appear next to the boat and suddenly everyone is shouting, laughing and running to the side to get a better look.

Hard to beat days like this♥️ taken in Sicily, Italy by @framethe.world

Days shaped by wind, waves and whatever the sea had planned for us. Sailing from island to island, waking up in a new bay, jumping into deep blue water, learning the ropes, holding on when the swell got stronger and laughing until our stomachs hurt.

There were endless attempts to finally beat the game, loud cheers every time dolphins appeared beside the boat and one of those moments you know you will talk about for years: watching Stromboli erupt in the darkness, hearing the deep rumble of the volcano and seeing glowing lava shoot into the night sky.

That is the magic of sailing. Life suddenly becomes very simple. Wind. Water. A boat. A horizon that keeps moving. No rush to be anywhere else.

There is something about being out at sea that makes freedom feel almost physical. Maybe it is the open horizon. Maybe it is waking up without knowing exactly what the day will bring. Maybe it is simply leaving the mainland behind for a while.

And then you get to share all of it with the best crew. The rough seas, the calm mornings, the dolphin encounters, the volcanic islands, the sunsets, the inside jokes and all those little moments in between that somehow become the ones you remember most.

A week of sailing, island hopping, Mediterranean adventures, wild nature, salty skin, strong winds, volcanic eruptions and unforgettable moments.

Already missing life at sea.⛵️ taken in Sizilien, Italy by @framethe.world

Crossing Mongolia on two wheels. 🇲🇳

Endless roads, wild steppe, desert dust and days without knowing exactly what lies ahead.

A motorcycle adventure through one of the most remote landscapes we’ve ever experienced.

Mongolia, what a ride. taken in Mongolia by @framethe.world

🇲🇳Somewhere in Mongolia, the road simply disappears. And you keep riding.

An incredible motorcycle journey through one of the wildest landscapes we’ve ever seen. Endless steppe, sand, dust, mountains and roads that barely deserve to be called roads. The fuel shortage made things even more unpredictable. Every tank became a little mission. Every day came with a new story.

But that’s what we came for, right?

The freedom. The uncertainty. The feeling of being completely out there.

Mongolia, you were one hell of a ride.🏍️

💌Postcards from Mongolia

My head is still in Mongolia. More than I expected, actually. I’m finding it strangely hard to slip back into everyday life this time.

Maybe it’s the vastness. The silence. The feeling of being so far away from everything familiar.

Mongolia is such a different world. And somehow, it did something to me. I can’t quite put it into words yet.

I just know that part of me is still there. ❣️

🇲🇳What could be better than immersing yourself in a culture completely different from your own?

Learning about its rituals and traditions, hearing the stories behind them, and slowly beginning to understand a little more about the land and its people.

Our backpack from Mongolia is filled with new impressions, stories, flavours, scents and encounters.

And isn’t that what travelling is really about? taken in Mongolia by @framethe.world

🇲🇳Our journey through Mongolia is slowly coming to an end. And yet, the further we travel, the harder it becomes to leave.

The real Mongolia begins the moment you leave Ulaanbaatar behind. Our journey did not unfold quite as planned. But perhaps that is Mongolia’s way of reminding you that out here, you do not travel according to a plan.

You will see few other travellers. You will see far more horses than cars. More dirt tracks than asphalt. And somewhere between the dust, the silence and the endless horizon, you begin to understand what makes Mongolia so extraordinary.

And Chinggis Khaan is never far away. His name follows you across the country, on street signs, banknotes, monuments, photographs and even bottles of drinks. A presence woven so deeply into Mongolia that you cannot really travel here without encountering him. taken in Mongolia by @framethe.world

🇲🇳The real, unfiltered nature. Right in front of your eyes.

Mongolia still feels real. Wild, vast and wonderfully untouched. Here, you don’t just see nature. You feel it in every fibre. I could spend hours watching nomadic herders gather their animals. Horses, yaks, sheep, goats, all moving across the endless steppe. There is something so unique about witnessing a way of life that is still so deeply connected to the land.

Driving through the Orkhon Valley, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, all you can really do is stop and stare. Endless grasslands, thousands of animals and nothing but pure Mongolian nature. At one point, we watched vultures feeding on a carcass. Not exactly a postcard moment, but somehow that is what makes this place so fascinating. Nature here doesn’t perform for you. It simply happens.

And when you stand there, everything is quiet. Just the wind moving through the steppe.

I already know this won’t be my last trip to Mongolia.♥️ taken in Mongolia by @framethe.world

🌿With the blink of an eye, Mongolia changes its face.

Not long ago, the landscape was dry and ochre, with sand, dust and camels wandering through the Gobi Desert. Now, suddenly, everything is green. Deep green grass stretches all the way to the horizon. Horses and cattle graze everywhere. Mice squeak somewhere in the grass. Birds of prey circle above us, while huge grasshoppers jump from one blade to the next.

And then there is the vastness. It never seems to end. But what I think I will remember most are the smells.
There are scents here I have never smelled anywhere else. The air is filled with herbs, so strong that you can almost taste them. A little like woodruff, mixed with dozens of wild herbs I couldn’t name even if I tried.

It makes me want to stay longer.

To take every little road, explore every valley and see what is waiting around the next corner.

Because that is the strange thing about Mongolia: the landscape can change completely within a few hours.
And somehow, you never get tired of looking. taken in Mongolia by @framethe.world
