Some founders build because they see a gap in the market.
Others build because they look at their home and think:
“There has to be a better way.”

For Kristina Hughes, Founder of Frame Your Feline, the idea started with a simple frustration: why should cat furniture be ugly?

She wanted to give her cats vertical space, places to perch, play, hide, and feel at home, without filling the room with carpeted cat trees, scratched-up sisal, or furniture that looked like an afterthought.

So she built something different.
Cat furniture designed like art.
Functional for the cats.
Beautiful for the humans.
And created with better materials, better design, and a whole lot of family effort.

From the first idea at home, to manufacturing challenges, to standing on the Shark Tank stage, Kristina’s story is a reminder that innovation often starts with a very specific problem and a founder stubborn enough to solve it beautifully.

And when the Sharks didn’t get it?
She kept building.

Because sometimes the market understands what the room doesn’t.

Featured Artwork Panel ‘Ripple’ looks like someone tossed a pebble into a perfectly calm pool… except the pool is your wall. Smooth waves of color sweep across the surface in rhythmic curves, creating the unmistakable sensation that the entire pattern is gently flowing.
The repeating arcs trick your eyes into following the motion again and again, making the whole design feel like it’s gliding sideways in slow, hypnotic waves.
Then your cat settles into the frame — perfectly still — while the entire background seems to ripple around them like they’re sitting in the middle of a visual tide. #frameyourfeline #opticalillusion taken in Palmdale, California by @frameyourfeline
