Twenty Minutes Is the New Hour is officially out in the world today!

This is my third book, but this launch feels different. So much has changed since my last one came out. I opened Bedford Books. My boys have gotten older (how I have a ninth grader and an eleventh grader, I’m still not quite sure). My niece (who is like my daughter) got married. My parents are getting older too, and I’m spending more time helping and caring for them.

And somewhere in the middle of all of it, I wrote a book about time.

The biggest thing I’ve learned? I don’t need another way to squeeze more into my days. I need to get better at deciding what deserves my time—and what doesn’t.

That’s what this book is really about: spending less time on the things that drain us so we can make more room for the people, work, and experiences that matter most. I hope it gives you back some of that time. 💛

And because it’s launch day, I have to ask! I can't believe that today marks the 5th anniversary of 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘔𝘺𝘵𝘩 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘕𝘪𝘤𝘦 𝘎𝘪𝘳𝘭'𝘴 release. 🥹

The week before the book came out in April 2018, I remember checking out the ‘women in business’ table at a local bookstore, and I almost had a heart attack. Most books were promoting a tougher, more masculine form of leadership. I was looking at that table thinking, ‘That’s where my book is going to go.’ Yikes. I was offering a very different take, and I got worried that my perspective on advancing in the workplace through kindness, empathy, and compassion wouldn’t land.

But it did. The book ended up being a bestseller, made all sorts of 'best of the year lists,' was awarded Audible’s top business book of the year, and has been translated into eight languages. The most profound impact of publishing the book, however, has been the feedback I’ve received from women all across the globe. I guess women were ready for this message after all.

It was fun to go back through all the photos and pick some of my favorite moments. From the TODAY show and the boys seeing the book in PEOPLE to the adorable 𝘕𝘪𝘤𝘦 𝘎𝘪𝘳𝘭𝘴 𝘍𝘛𝘞 bracelet by @littlewordsproject 💞

New book alert‼️ @fran_hauser just released her 3rd book, and it is a gem. 🌈 I was able to read an advanced copy, and I’ll tell you, “Twenty Minutes is the New Hour” is incredibly thoughtful yet easy to digest, and feels like a breath of air to reclaim time. Especially, to create more time for presence and imagination (or, Kairos time, as she details in the book). I particularly resonated with her sections about people-pleasing and creating a “to-don’t list” (need to revisit!).

Fran’s signature style: warm encouragement, micro storytelling through real-life examples, and clear over clever information, means you digest the wisdom and expertise she shares into immediate play. Rather than freeing up time to add more to your life, this book will leave you feeling empowered to protect what matters most.
