A little shopping, a little exploring, a little Asian food… and naturally, giant macarons and a pumpkin spice latte to finish the day 🛍️🥢🍂☕️

Come spend a day with me at a French shopping center! 🇫🇷✨

And yes, those macarons were as BIG as they look 😁

One of my favorite discoveries since living in France? 🇫🇷
There are FREE and low-cost activities available through your local community! 👏🏽
I've personally attended a free cooking class AND a free tote bag workshop — and I actually got to take something home from both. 🍓👜😂
If you're living in France, don't overlook your local Maison de Ville. You might be surprised by what's available in your community!

Did you know France has tiny cars you can drive without a regular car license?! 😳🇫🇷🚗
They're small, they're cute, they're limited to 45 km/h… and they're actually used for everyday life!
Work, groceries, errands — you can get around without needing a traditional Category B driver's license.
And yes… there are rules. 😂
Would YOU drive one?

Let's keep talking MONEY. 💶🇫🇷

Here's Part 2 of monthly expenses in France:
🚇 Monthly transportation pass
⚡️ Electricity bill

What does it actually cost me for some of the basics in France? 🇫🇷💶
Here's Part 1 of my monthly expenses:
📱 Cell phone + home Wi-Fi: €60/month
🏥 Supplemental healthcare: €60/month
That's €120/month for both!

Part 2 is coming with transportation + electricity!

Trying to grab a meal in France at 4 PM? 😩🇫🇷
You might have a problem. 😂
A lot of restaurants stop serving lunch around 2 PM and don't start dinner service until around 6 PM.
So if you're hungry in that awkward late-afternoon window… you better have a backup plan! 🥐😂
This was one of those little things about everyday life in France that I definitely had to learn.

One thing I REALLY like about working in France? 🇫🇷💼
Your salary isn't necessarily the whole compensation package.
Depending on the employer and your situation, you may get benefits like:
🥪 Lunch vouchers
🏥 Supplementary health insurance
🚇 50% reimbursement of eligible public transportation costs
Coming from the U.S., this was definitely something I wanted to understand better!

WAIT… YOUR PURCHASES CAN HAVE A 2-YEAR LEGAL WARRANTY IN FRANCE?! 😳🇫🇷
France has some pretty strong consumer protections, including a legal guarantee of conformity for many consumer goods.
So if something you buy develops a problem, don't automatically assume you're just out of luck.
Know your rights! 👏🏽🇫🇷

WAIT… YOUR BIRTH CERTIFICATE CAN “EXPIRE”?! 😳🇫🇷

Well… kind of.

For certain French administrative procedures, you may be required to provide a recently issued copy of your birth certificate — sometimes one issued within the last 3 months.

So that certificate you ordered months ago? It may not be accepted. 🫠

Welcome to French bureaucracy. 🇫🇷😂

Moving to France? 🇫🇷 Don't forget about your VPN! 🌐
A VPN can be useful when you're living abroad and want to access certain websites and services that may vary depending on your location.
Streaming, banking, websites… your digital life doesn't necessarily stop at the French border. 😂🇺🇸➡️🇫🇷

Moving to France? 🇫🇷📱 An eSIM can make getting connected MUCH easier when you arrive!
Instead of scrambling for Wi-Fi or looking for a physical SIM card, you can set up your eSIM before you even leave. ✈️
It’s one less thing to worry about when you land!
