Still Lives

I spent a lot of the last few years looking out of train windows - at landscapes and skies. Now I'm looking in.

Far from perfect, but I felt like I learnt a lot. I'll probably come back to this one. by @francesmakestuff

I’ve been too busy with my thesis to justify painting much lately - but once in a while, I saw something I felt compelled to recreate! I took photos in those moments and promised myself I would do it eventually - so here in my first week of thesis-freedom, is my first one! As always I feel like I learned so much in the process 😊 by @francesmakestuff

Drawing on the train has been a great way to unwind after a long day and use my mind in a different way. Inspiration came from the landscapes, sunrises, and sunsets - as well as some wonderful friends! I feel as though I'm starting to see progression and that's really exciting! ☺️ by @francesmakestuff

Tried my hand at felting yesterday thanks to @clairejstamper and made this cute little guy. 🛸 It's a brain slug from Futurama. Kinda tempted to add him to a hair clip! 🚀

I think we should all have brain slug hair clips don't you? Maybe we could all go to the brain slug planet and walk around not wearing helmets - anyone with me?

Latest #procreate piece inspired but an absolute bonkers dream. 🐒🔥🛖 I've gotten to the point where everything I add, I don't like - which must mean it's done!

Overall, I enjoyed drafting this and how forgiving procreate is. I'm happy with the sky and the hut - though I'm not sure they go well together. I really wanted the piece to have a dream-like ambiguity - so hopefully that works 😅

I'm still not happy with the figure - and I think it was ambitious... if foolhardy. But happy to add this to my growing collection ☺️

I'm enjoying figuring out #procreate - learning each time I make something. ☺️

Day 9 - Abyss 🕳️

This piece is inspired by my actual nightmares. 😅
Thanks for the prompt
@maruti_bitamin

At this rate I'll be done my Christmas 😬 loved the challenge to convey depth and horror - not sure I quite pulled it off - but I'm happy that I'm back on the wagon. ✨

Annnnd we're very behind!
Day 8 - Plants 🪴

Today I painted my desk plant.

I think this was really a lesson in letting paint dry before you add to it 😅 but I'm happy with the highlights and I'm also happy with the slightly unusual angles.
