Ten years ago today, Map Stories was published in English. A different kind of book inspired by my grandfather’s marvellous collection of maps. The book is still doing well so thank you to everyone who continues to read my books! My road trip in Canada is finally on my blog (Link in bio/Website). You will find practical details, itineraries, hotels, stories… For me, there is no better way to discover a country, to really see how people live. I come from two countries with exceptional natural landscapes, so every time I am in the presence of this kind of incredible beauty, the biggest question to me is how we learn to live in greater harmony with the natural world. For me, it means telling stories that help us imagine what we could lose. Yes, stories can change the way we see the world. Immensely grateful to Canada and Merci @carolyne_parent for the precious recommendations.

Opening night at @fondationlv for the spectacular exhibition « Gustave Fayet,Collector - Designer. Icons of modern art » . Thank you @luxchick for a fabulous moment. A wonderful occasion to travel with Gauguin, Van Gogh, Cézanne and so many incredible artists #keepondreaming #parís #beauty#franciscamatteoli #inspiration by @francisca_matteoli

I love impromptu encounters with people who lead different lives to mine. Navigating different languages and cultures was always part of my life at home. I remember my father asking people on a nearby table in a restaurant for the salt and ten minutes later they had become friends. I have met many people on trains, boats, planes all over the world -some have become dear friends. So thank you @coachnoble45
@cnobes45 for your impromptu boating invitation, the fantastic memories et à bientôt!

"We don’t stop playing because we grow old; we grow old because we stop playing." – George Bernard Shaw. I couldn’t agree more.

All my books are inspired by personal experiences. Last summer, we travelled to Canada - from Montreal to Quebec, then Ontario and Muskoka. To quote my mother : "beautiful memories are like a healthy bank account" - especially in hard times. More details soon on my blog.
