The narrow entrance into West Bay Harbour, Bridport, Dorset, UK. Once inside, there is shelter from stormy weather. There are very few navigable harbours in Lyme Bay between Portland and Exmouth. They are,from the east, West Bay, Lyme Regis and Axmouth. The distance across Lyme Bay from Portland to Start Point is approx. 50 miles (80 kilometres).
