Mountain in the driest desert in the world

Hermoso ejemplar en las costas de Iquique 🐋

La ballena jorobada es una especie icónica y un símbolo de esfuerzo de conservación de los océanos. Su presencia en nuestra costa es un recordatorio de la importancia de proteger nuestro ecosistema marino.

Ella se encuentra alimentándose de pequeños peces utilizando una técnica llamada “alimentación con red de burbujas”, donde soplan burbujas para rodear a sus presas y luego nadan hacia arriba con la boca abierta para capturarlas.

Esta ballena cuyo nombre es “Espiral” mide entre 12 y 16 metros y pesa unas 30 toneladas.

Ella tiene en su zona derecha de la cola una deformación probablemente por el choque con una embarcación.

El tránsito por nuestras costas es normal en esta época, cuidémosla y respetémosla. La especie se encuentra en constante peligro por culpa de las pesqueras locales y cazadores chinos.
