Happy 80th birthday, Dad. You taught Ryan Gosling how to beach, and how to beach well. You’re one of the greatest musicians I know. Miss you a million. 🫶🏼

No argument, disagreement, pain, or anything is ever worth inhibiting oneself from forgiveness and reconciliation with someone you love, especially a parent. They were trying their best with what they knew when they raised us. Childhood trauma is real. Heal those deep parts of you so you can freely and deeply forgive because you never know when it’s the last time you’ll ever see, hear, touch, kiss, hug them again. Nothing makes the fragility of mankind more evident then watching your aging parent succumb to ailments. When they’re gone, you would wish you had more time. We only have one life, make it count now. Call your parents and tell them how much you love them. Appreciate them. Miss them. Book that flight. Make that road trip. Go surprise them. Parents, call your kids and tell them I’m sorry. That’s probably all they want to hear from you.
