Day 4&5: So I actually wrote up something for Day 4 but my app fucking jammed then I got mad and threw my phone and never got back to it so I’m doing 2 days together. Frankfurt is a beautiful place - lively and busy as fuck. Started the day with Indian food & beers and then straight to Primark. Shopped like a hoe and the weather’s HOT so we wanted a cold beer but cb it was warm. Broke our hearts and to make up for it we got 12 beers once we reached the fan zone for Turkey v Georgia. The Turkish population here is massive so we had to be with the Turks for the game and they didn’t disappoint. After another 20 beers, it was time to watch the greatest footballer of all time bless our eyes. Portugal vs Czechia was too exciting. After that Naki and me went riding on the e-scooter. It was windy, quiet and cold so that ride was pretty zen. And on to Day 5, getting to Munich from Frankfurt. Bought many beers and food for the 4-hour journey. But realised we didn’t have to because they fucking sell beers in the trains. Played cards, drank more beers and then once we settled down in our bunk, straight for more beers at the fan zone with the Germans for the Germany game. Atmosphere was euphoric obviously. Met some Singaporeans during the Scotland game and I feel like I have some Scottish roots because I went home with a fucking Scottish flag and a hat. Am slowly learning their national anthem now. They were selling beers in 1L jugs so imagine how much we had. After the match, I went drink riding on the e-scooter for about an hour and slowly fell asleep with a half eaten Mars bar in my mouth. Day 3: Left Essen for Frankfurt to catch Belgium vs Slovakia. The 2 hour travel wasn’t much of a torture because we managed to get our own cabin with a table so got table means of course many beers. The vibes in Frankfurt are generally more colorful and it’s busier here. Checked into hotel and then beers beers beers. We got Prime tickets for this game because that was the only ones left but foookin’ hell we were fucking shocked at the positioning of our seats - literally 3 rows behind the bench & tunnel. Everything was close up and that shit was surreal. And of course the dramatic game just wrapped it up for us. Not like the fucking England game like grandmother on sleeping pills. After game, headed straight to an Irish bar where I was Scottish for a night. The Scottish weren’t even playing a game but they were just singing songs through the night and someone gave me a Scotland bucket hat and just sang songs I didn’t understand. We thought of taking it slow the next 2 days because we’re not watching in the stadiums but I know that’ll never happen. We will keep going. Talk tomorrow. Ciao! by @franklinzy

Day 2: Travelled from Düsseldorf to Essen to check in before heading towards Gelsenkirchen, Arena AufSchalke, home of Schalke, to catch England v Serbia. Expected nothing less from the English fans as they elevated the atmosphere with chants after chants - on the streets, in bars, in buses and trains. One main English fan I met, clad in a full English flag suit, was the best friend of Jack Grealish’s dad and he had some pretty amazing stories. I lost track of time during that conversation. We caught the Poland v Netherlands game in one of the fanzones and of course got drunk. Football is fucking love. You can see only love and passion everywhere - towards the sport & the countries. It’s foookin’ beautiful. I’m so fucking thankful to be here. We’re not getting younger but the amount of beers we have on an hourly basis just constantly reminds us that we’re fucking young at heart & liver. On towards Day 3! by @franklinzy

Day 1 - Düsseldorf, Germany. Following a 20-hour travel from home, linked up with @nakiran who flew in from Manchester, soaked into the atmosphere at the Fan Zone for Spain v Croatia & Italy v Albania. Got drunk and also 30-hours of continuous beers got us exhausted. Knocked the fuck out once we reached back. Stay tuned for Day 2 updates. taken in Düsseldorf, Germany by @franklinzy

One of the reason why people see me as a man of few words.
One of my favourite things is listening to somebody talking about their favourite things. Eyes lighted up, cheeks flushed, rapid and pitchy voice. The pure, unadulterated joy of seeing someone at their happiest is a feeling like no other.
