*00s MTV reality show voice* What’s up? My name is Frank. I’m 38 years old. And I like to party. You know my hobbies? They normal as hell. I misspelled the word “amateur” and—HELL YEAH—I AM embarrassed by it. by @frankokay

Something about time going by fast. I forgot to write Japanese for one of these and made mistakes in others but I’m not fixing it. by @frankokay

In June 2022, nearly four years ago, I moved to Tokyo from Chicago. For the first 5 months, I lived in a share house (a co-living space often inhabited by short term foreign residents). I hated it there. However, something I’ll never forget is the array of textures and materials that were totally foreign to me as a Chicagoan. Wallpapers, tatami, windows. On the day I left, while waiting for the moving guy to come, I took these photos of the textures around my share house in Kuramae, Taito. I regard this as a strange and abstract turning point for me—the sheen still shone but the details revealed themselves. Please enjoy. by @frankokay

I love living in Tokyo but often really miss the grime of Chicago. The grime of my youth. Youth Grime. Band name for sure. by @frankokay
