Lone Madrone Winery’s 1986 Volkswagen Vanagon Westfalia. Today’s feature is a 1986 Volkswagen Vanagon Westfalia, affectionately known as the "Westy", owned by Neil and Marci Collins who have owned it for the last 15 years. I photographed this van at their family owned Lone Madrone Winery located at 3750 Hwy 46 West, Templeton, CA 93465. It is finished in gold with a beige Interior. It is powered by a 95 hp, 2.1 liter, water- cooled "boxer" 4 cylinder engine, with a Bosch Digifant fuel injection. It has a 4-manual transmission with 4.83:1 final ratio. Slowing this beauty down are power assisted 10.9" solid disc brakes in front and 9.9" rear drum brakes in the rear. It has independent front suspension and an Independent transaxle in the rear.

While this car does not travel in the collector car circuit it is much much more to the Collins family. It is a vital ….

Today’s car is a right hand drive 1962 Morgan 4/4 Roadster Le Mans TT Special that I have now owned for 1 year. It is finished in British Race Green with a tan leather Interior, and green carpet. It is powered by a 150hp inline 4 cylinder Ford Kent Crossflow Engine that has been bored out to 1760cc with a Kent 244 Fast Road duration cam, and a Weber Alpha Sport electronic fuel injection (EFI) system. Mated to a Ford 5-speed manual transmission with the 0.82 5th gear reduces the 4.10:1 rear end gear ratio to 3.36:1 in fifth gear. Slowing this baby down are non power assisted 11″disc in the front and 9″ drums in the rear. The front suspension has sliding pillar set up with king pins, coil springs and Spax shocks and in the rear it has longitudinal semi-elliptical leaf springs and Spax shocks.

This car was built as a tribute to the first Morgan to compete at Le Mans in ….

Today's car is a 1967 Dodge Coronet R/T owned by Paul English. I saw this car at a local event in Westchester, CA called Christmas on Croydon Ave that put on by Dave Turple. This is the second year of the event and it combines a Christmas concert along with Caroling and a small local car show. The R/T stands for Road and Track. You would drive the car to the track, Race it, and then drive It home. It is finished in red with a black interior. It is powered by a 440 Magnum V8 that produces 375 horsepower, 440 cu in, with a Carter BBD 4 bbl carburetor mated to a ….

Today's truck is a 1953 Chevrolet 3100 and built as a tribute to a Good Humor Ice Cream Truck. It was built by owner Steve Daniels You might remember about a year ago I did an article on Steve's Helms Bakery truck. This truck is finished in bright white with the appropriate Good Humor markings and a black interior. The 3100 is a 1/2 ton pickup truck that has been modified to an open cab. It is powered by a 112 hp, 235 cu in, in-line "stovebolt" 6 cylinder engine with a single-barrel Rochester carburetor, mated to a Borg-Warner T5 5-speed manual transmission with a 3.90:1 rear axle. Steve switch to the 5-speed to be able to drive the truck at an idle without depressing the clutch or braking to maintain a crawl speed. Slowing this sweet truck down comes from Wilwood disc brakes. The front suspension consisted of an I-beam system, and in the rear a semi-floating system using semi elliptical springs. The truck was upgraded to a 12 volt system. The freezer is a 3 plate cold plate freezer that runs off of 110 V.A.C. The truck has an inverter that converts the 12 volt system to 110 V.A.C to maintain the freezers cold if and when needed.

The original MSRP is $1407.00. The 3100 was launched in June, 1947 and ran until March, 1955. Total production for 1953 was ….

Today's vehicle is an Oscar Mayer Wienermobile that is finished in Orange and Yellow with a Mustard and Ketchup interior. There are 6 identical Wienermobiles roaming the country. In the same fashion as a Oscar Mayer Hot Dog is made, the Wienermobile is made from a variety of ingredients/parts. They started life as partially built Isuzu truck chassis and uses a Chevrolet L96 6.0-liter gasoline V-8 engine. The L96 is mated to a GM 6-Speed 6L90 Hydra-Matic automatic transmission with 5.375:1 rear axle gear ratio. Slowing this wiener down are vacuum assisted hydraulic brakes with disc in the front and drums in the rear. There is a regular horn in the vehicle, but there’s also one that toots the Oscar Mayer Wiener jingle.
