On August 8th, our family experienced the unimaginable. We lost Joshua Peck—a beloved husband, father, son, brother, uncle, friend, and proud Military veteran with both the Army & Air Force. He was only 40 years old.

We have put together both a Go Fund Me page, as well as a Venmo account for Raina. Any donations will help her navigate the heavy financial stress that comes with a loss such as this.

Please keep in mind that Venmo donations go 100% to Raina and do not incur a service fee.

We are also making plans to honor Josh in the way he deserves. These services will be held in the Phoenix area. On Thursday, October 8th, we will honor his service to our country with a full military service. The following day, October 9th would have been Josh’s 41st birthday, and we will gather that day for a Celebration of Life, to remember the man he was, the people he loved, and the memories he left behind.

Thank you for loving Josh, for remembering him, for supporting his family, and for helping us carry some of this weight. We are devastated by his loss, but we are determined to honor his life, his service to his country, his love for his family, and the incredible legacy he left behind. by @frankshutup

On Saturday, I had to say goodbye to my sweet baby Ginger. My family took in her and her brother Freddie when they were kittens and we already had a lot of cats in the house and the plan was to just foster them while they were sick and return them to hopefully be adopted by someone. We fell in love with Ginger fast and obviously couldn’t let them go. I keep telling people how she was the most pure and good being I’ve ever known; not a mean bone in her body. She was such a soft and gentle, loving companion. She’s my most potent reminder that there is still some good in this world, and my world is worse off in her absence. She was calm and docile but very social, and just loved to be around people (and they loved to be around her). She was always happy even up to the end; you could just be near her and she’d start purring. She loved to eat, but to my surprise was always totally disinterested in human food. She would meow at you to follow her to her kibble and wanted you to watch what she could do hahaha. And she loved being pet on her haunch and if you did it while she was eating she’d start eating even harder. Things went downhill pretty fast so this really took me by surprise, but I managed to get a couple extra weeks with her before I had to stop holding on, and for that time I’m thankful. I’m going to miss her raspy little silent meow. I’ll miss her little headbutts and her dragging her tooth on your chin while you pet her. I’m going to regret all the times I stopped her from clawing me during good pets. I’ll miss her sneezing literally directly in your face and then eating her own boogers. I’ll miss how good of a sport she was when we’d play with her and put hats on her or balance things on her head. I’ll miss her rare bursts of energy that usually ended in her skidding in place like a cartoon character and then barely squeezing under the bed (we were always proud of how big she was, 17lbs in her prime). Most of all I’ll miss her calming presence and gentle nature. Thank you for everything big Ging… you made my life feel very special, and it feels less full without you here, but I’ll always have you in my memory. Bye bye, baby.
