A Heartfelt Thank You Councillor Luke Stack! ❤️

I want to extend my sincere appreciation to outgoing Kelowna City Councillor Luke Stack for including me among the eight candidates he has recommended for Kelowna City Council.

After 18 years and five terms serving the people of Kelowna, he has dedicated an extraordinary amount of time and energy to our community. Luke’s commitment to public service deserves recognition and gratitude.

I am particularly touched by his words about me.

“Julia Fraser – Has great experience on the School Board, she is well prepared and willing to do the hard work of Council”

Coming from someone with 18 years of experience at City Hall, that acknowledgement means a great deal to me.

Having served 15 years as an elected School Trustee, I understand the responsibility that comes with public office, the importance of doing your homework, listening to residents, and making thoughtful decisions that serve the entire community.

Luke, thank you for your confidence in me and, more importantly, thank you for your 18 years of dedicated service to Kelowna. I wish you all the very best as you begin your next chapter.

Your recognition of my experience and willingness to do the hard work is something I deeply appreciate.

🎓🌟 Connecting with Students at UBC Okanagan! 🌟🎓

What a wonderful afternoon at the SUO’s Civic Connect BBQ – Student-Candidate Meet & Greet at the UBCO campus!

A big thank you to Nadan Qually, SUO Vice-President, for the warm welcome and for helping create this opportunity for students and municipal candidates to connect.

It was fantastic to meet so many engaged and thoughtful students during their break! We had meaningful conversations about issues directly affecting their lives, particularly affordable housing, public transportation, and the challenges students face living and studying in Kelowna.

I came away having learned so much from these conversations, with fresh perspectives and new ideas I would love to explore as a City Councillor. Listening to our young people is so important. After all, they are not only our future, but an important part of our community today!

👏 A special shout-out to Carter Mochinski, a recent graduate of Central Okanagan Public Schools whom I had the pleasure of getting to know through his involvement with our District Student Council. Carter is now attending UBCO and is also the Green Party candidate for Kelowna–Lake Country in the provincial election. Congratulations, Carter! Wishing you all the best on your campaign. It’s wonderful to see young people taking an active role in public service. You have a bright future ahead of you!

It was also a pleasure chatting with SUO President Olivia and having the opportunity to make a short video with the staff from The Phoenix, UBCO’s student newspaper! 🎥

After 15 years serving as a School Trustee, one of the most rewarding parts of public service has always been connecting with students, hearing their perspectives, and watching them grow into confident young leaders.

Thank you, UBCO students, for the conversations, ideas, and warm welcome! 💚

🗳️ On October 17, I hope to be 1 of your 8 votes for Kelowna City Council.

I Used To Sell KELOWNA — Literally!

For 15 years, I worked as a Regional Sales Manager for a locally owned hotel chain, promoting business and leisure travel to Kelowna.

My job was to give people a reason to choose our hotels — but also a reason to choose Kelowna.

I worked with businesses, organizations and travellers and saw firsthand how tourism supports hotels, restaurants, shops, attractions and many other local jobs.

It also taught me something important: people have choices.

Communities compete for visitors, conferences, investment, businesses and talented people. ✈️ 👩🏻‍💼 ⛳️

As a City Councillor, I would bring that perspective to decisions about economic development, infrastructure, our downtown, arts and culture, recreation and the visitor experience.

I spent 15 years promoting Kelowna as a great place to visit.

Today, I want to help ensure it remains a great place to live, work, invest and raise a family.

Julia Fraser — 1 of your 8 votes for Kelowna City Council.

Experience that Transfers: Plan For GROWTH

As a School Trustee, I have seen firsthand what happens when population growth moves faster than infrastructure.

Growing enrolment means planning years ahead for schools, classrooms, transportation, land and capital projects. When we don’t plan far enough ahead, families feel the consequences.

Kelowna faces the same challenge.

Housing is important — but growth also needs roads, transit, water, parks, recreation facilities and other essential infrastructure.

My approach to City Council would be the same approach I have brought to school governance:

Plan ahead. Use good data. Listen to the community. Make sure infrastructure keeps pace with growth.

We need to build not only a bigger Kelowna, but a Kelowna where people continue to enjoy a great quality of life.

🗳️ On October 17, I’m asking to be 1 of your 8 votes for Kelowna City Council.

🌟 Celebrating #WorldTeachersDay! 🌟

Today, I want to recognize and celebrate the incredible teachers who make a difference in the lives of students every single day. 🍎📚

Having had the privilege of serving for 15 years as a School Trustee with Central Okanagan Public Schools, including as Board Chair, I have seen firsthand the dedication, compassion and commitment our teachers bring to their classrooms and school communities.

Teachers do so much more than teach. They ignite curiosity, encourage creativity, build confidence, create a sense of belonging and help young people discover what they are capable of achieving.

To all of our teachers: thank you for your passion, your patience, your care and the countless ways you support students and families.

Your impact reaches far beyond the classroom and lasts a lifetime. ❤️

Happy World Teachers’ Day! 🍎✨

🗳️ On October 17, I’m asking to be 1 of your 8 votes for Kelowna City Council.

🚓 🚒 PUBLIC SAFETY is a Priority For Me.

Every Kelowna resident deserves to feel safe — in their home, their neighbourhood and throughout our community.

Throughout my 15 years as a School Trustee, I have strongly supported our School Resource Officers and the important relationships they build with students. Their work goes far beyond enforcement — it’s about trust, mentorship, education, early intervention and helping prevent problems before they become future crime and public safety issues.

I also have tremendous respect for our RCMP officers, firefighters, emergency responders, Crime Stoppers volunteers, bylaw officers and community safety partners who work every day to keep us safe.

These photos mean a lot to me. One is from a Crime Stoppers event, where I was proud to show my support for their important work. The other is with some of our incredible firefighters following the devastating wildfires that destroyed homes and changed the lives of so many families in our community.

I will never forget the courage and dedication shown by those who stepped forward to protect our community. ❤️

As your City Councillor, I will support a balanced approach to public safety — strong frontline services and enforcement, alongside prevention, early intervention and partnerships that address the root causes of crime and disorder.

A safe community is the foundation of a strong community.

🗳️ On October 17, I’m asking to be 1 of your 8 votes for Kelowna City Council.

Meet @frasercrew, candidate for Kelowna City Council.

As part of Okanagan Echo’s 2026 Civic Series, we asked all 11 women running for council the same four questions about why they’re running, the priorities they would bring to City Hall, the experience they offer and what they want residents to know before voting.

🧡 Every Child Matters.

Today, September 30, we recognize National Day for Truth and Reconciliation and Orange Shirt Day.

It is a day to honour Residential School Survivors, the children who never returned home, their families, and Indigenous communities across Canada. It is also a time to acknowledge the lasting and intergenerational impacts of the Residential School system.

Reconciliation requires more than recognition on one day. It requires us to listen, learn, reflect, and act—and to continue building relationships grounded in respect, understanding, and truth.

As someone who has had the privilege of learning from Indigenous leaders, families, and communities through many years of public service, I remain committed to being an ally and to continuing my own journey of learning.

Today, I wear orange in remembrance, respect, and solidarity. 🧡

Every Child Matters.
