Looking for places to host a Roda de Choro in Heidelberg and around the Rhein Neckar region!

A Roda de Choro is an interactive music happening that provides a comfortable atmosphere. Using the Brazilian choro repertoire as a basis, musicians are invited to bring their instruments and sit in.

Watch till the end for us killing it at out hardest tune 😂

Currently open for any gigs, let us know if you want us to bring choro to your space!

A roda de choro is much more than a musical performance—it’s a vibrant gathering of musicians and listeners where Brazil’s first popular music genre, choro, comes alive! 🎵

Picture this: musicians seated in a circle, sharing melodies full of intricate harmonies and improvisation. It’s a joyful, collaborative space where the beauty of the music comes from interaction, spontaneity, and deep connection.

🌟 At its core, a roda de choro is about:

🎻 Collaboration – Each instrument, from the cavaquinho to the flute, has its moment to shine.

🎼 Improvisation – A constant dialogue where musicians build on each other’s ideas.

🤝 Community – Whether you’re playing or simply listening, everyone is part of the experience.

Have you ever experienced the magic of a roda de choro? If not, it’s time to join one—we will announce our next roda soon!

Musical Moment #66

This is the last musical moment that I recorded with Frank Ströber: While My Guitar Gently Weeps.

What is your favorite Beatles tune? (:

Musical Moment #65

(Best experienced with headphones for the beautiful bass tones of the Chapman Stick)

Composition by the one and only, Frank Ströber, on the fascinating Chapman Stick! This composition is entitled “Espaço” and it was first written for the guitar (there’s actually a version of this available on Spotify), but of course, when transferred to the Chapman Stick it became something slightly different, and something truly unique, catchy, groovy, and an overall brilliant piece, I would say.

Thanks, Frank, for providing us with a musical moment today!
