I had the incredible opportunity to design and create the costumes for the latest music video by @amenra_official . This was a fantastic experience, diving into the world of Amenra. Bringing that world to life alongside an amazing, kind, and incredibly talented team was truly inspiring.

June 2026 Belly Sculpture intervention in conversation with Rubenesque woman

What if something I usually want to hide could become the centre of the work?

For this intervention at the KMSKA, I started from my fascination with the belly and my own complicated relationship with body fat. Inspired by artists such as Ana Mendieta, Louise Bourgeois and Lynda Benglis, as well as the bodies depicted by Rubens, I explored how we decide which bodies are considered beautiful and which are expected to be hidden.

I created belly sculptures from my own body, which became the starting point for a costume, prints and photographs made inside the museum.

The intervention happened during one of the most vulnerable moments of my year, when exhaustion and bloating made me feel especially disconnected from my body. Performing at that moment added another layer to the work: a direct confrontation with how stress lives in and changes the body.

Through this work, I wanted to look more closely at something I have often considered 'ugly' and see what happens when I give it space & love.

Elke week belanden we backstage bij de headliners van de Belgische festivalzomer.
De artiesten delen er meer over hun zomermaanden 'on stage', met hun podiumoutfits als leidraad. Zo ook Ão-frontvrouw Brenda Corijn.
