all time is located at 2040 hillhurst ave. you can’t get there through the internet. we can’t feed you here, or share good music and candlelight and hot donuts and funny stories. a picture of a meal is not a meal, no matter how well shot. you can’t hear the cooks banging sauté pans rhythmically here on the internet. or smell the gnocchi. or see how the last bits of daylight splash down on the flowers. but in real life these elements grab me by the heart and rock me so hard i laugh and cry at the same time. a hundred times a day. from love. in person you can feel this. you can be a VIP whether you’re driving a ferrari or you are the stifflemans. Our team is magical and smart and deeply feeling and alive. you won’t be able to taste the homemade bread here in the internet, or blow out your birthday candle. and i’m glad for that. the internet fixates and salvates and sometimes plain hates. it obsesses over celebrity culture and physical appearance and buying and selling. it likes to talk about restaurants through these constructs, reducing hard work and real people and food grown by farmers to gossip and transaction and a points system i can’t understand. like trying to hold up a ruler to a song and measure it. internet, all confused and distorting. it’s not its fault. that’s just what it is. it consumes itself but it still feels hungry. it wants so badly to feel the very something that it can’t have. i feel bad for the internet. it’s so lonely. i would love to heal it. i’d give it hospitality straight up. the friendly generous act of caring for all, a thing so unconcerned with status. a word that comes from the latin noun “hospes” which means both host and guest simultaneously. how wondrous, this word. it happens at all time not by accident but because of the people coming here and working here. you might roll your eyes reading this, but it’s ok, that’s not your fault, either; you’re just consuming it within the internet. come to all time be away from the internet. whoever you are. i just felt like saying this. here on the internet, strangely. i have more to say. but not here. for now just one more thing: i love you. from deep within my veins. you know who you are. by @freakinalltime
