Scenes from 29029. Unfortunately that was the only ascent I completed today. Just after the last aid station I was struggling mightily & with every step I questioned if I should continue (I definitely wanted to). A poor decision had left me with pain in my foot as well as messed up electrolytes and behind on fuel and hydration. A first aid worker came up & helped me realize that I couldn’t continue. It was a hard and emotional decision, but the right one.
I have the option to go back out & make that 2nd ascent. I’ll see how I feel in the morning but right now I am spent in every sense of the word. Even if I don’t, this was a success because I left it all out on the mountain.
I am overwhelmed by the support that I’ve received on this journey. I am incredibly grateful for everyone that commented, messaged, texted & called. I’m also grateful for the amazing @29029everesting staff, coaches & amazing community of hikers & volunteers. I can’t wait to start training for next year. taken in Snowbasin Resort by @fred.bauscus

It’s really happening! I’m checked in for @29029everesting. I’m not gonna lie, that first section is a little intimidating. 500ft gain in a 1/4 mile. But I can do it! taken in Snowbasin Resort by @fred.bauscus

#kttapecharityseries #rwbchallenge day 20. Challenge Completed. I’m definitely fitter than I was at the beginning & plan to carry this momentum forward. Especially since I’m at the 1/3 mark of 75 hard.
