Olá! Sou o Fred e nunca me apresentei formalmente.

This was a very frustrating wall to paint. It kept falling apart with (almost) every brush stroke, as you can see in a video in this carrosel. Thought of not finishing it and start another wall. Thought of not posting it. Thought a lot of things. The thing is: life has no do-overs or undo button and you have to learn to live with your mistakes, with things you don’t necassarily like and carry on moving forward, evolving. Other than that it was a good day with @theguzler
.

Marriage of two passions with a new medium.

Due to a tendinitis on my painting arm, I’ve had no choice but to stop using spray cans and start exploring different mediums and tools. So why not experiment with language and style aswell? I went to the hardware store and bought the biggest roller/paint brush extension they had, which led to yet another challenge - how to control a wiggly 4m pole with a paint brush at the end and not completely mess up the painting.

I’ve been into bonsai art for a while now, and one of it’s purposes is to mimic an old, mature tree but in a small pot. In this painting I tried to paint one of the most commonly used bonsai styles (informal upright) but in a regular, old tree size in nature, surrounded by rocks, small plants and other trees in the background.

I’m looking forward do explore new possibilities with a medium I haven’t used much in the past years - plain old bucket paint! Let’s see how this goes and how my arm progresses.

I was invited to decorate ZNA Gathering for the 3rd year running.

This year I had to step up as team leader and make it happen.

It all started by meeting my recommended teammate, @freadaranha_, and we've become very united and strong since the beginning.

Along the way, a few souls joined in to help us, since we were only two and the weather conditions were extreme.

They made the experience more unique and pleasant for us.

15 days, extreme weather, painting from sunrise to sunset. We camped on-site the whole time, next to everyone else building the festival from the ground up.

People I'm eager to meet again every time, from the festival's production team to the construction crew.

Then I stayed 7 more days to enjoy the festival and witness people experiencing the decorations. I like to make the most out of people's experience with the paintings and decorations.

I love seeing people enjoy our work and the other teams' work.

This is what makes a place like this feel alive during those 7 days, before and after.

I'm really happy with this year's result. After three editions painting as a team, I felt like the results came out better with just the two of us this time - and more to paint - but having beautiful people come in to support and help whenever we needed it.

That's why I love being part of the construction and creation of places like ZNA Gathering - the beauty of co-creating and building an experience like this from the ground up.

There's more from this project coming soon.

And I'm excited for future ones.

DM me to explore more spaces and decorations.
