Archives. From when I was Volun-told into losing 15kg and boxing for the regiment 😂

An important skill to have. The training teaches you discipline, the punches, controlled aggression. But you also learn to appreciate those you have in your corner. The ones that want the best for you. Everyone’s going through their own battles but the key is to keep moving forwards no matter how foggy the path.

I joined the army as a junior soldier.

Joining the army is something I always wanted to do and something I wouldn’t change. It’s a tough job and there were many rough nights, some included staying up till god knows when digging holes in the pouring rain 🤦🏽‍♂️😂 but the army also gave me the chance to travel a bit, meet some extraordinary people and make some memories I will never forget.

@playforthememory is a 7 a-side tournament where brilliant teams come together to play for charitable causes and keep the memory of loved ones alive. It has been running for 9 years now and for 6 of them I have represented #jvjm - Jack Vincent James Merrick who tragically passed away in an incident at such a young age.

We have always been the underdogs. Having previously never made it out of the group stages. This year I had the honour of Captaining a squad full of unbelievable players. As always there was tough competition from the start with many close games to the drama of penalty shootouts but in the end we managed to bring home the trophy for Jack and more funds for the local church. Absolutely over the moon for Jack’s family, friends and team.
